Although I don’t normally write reviews, I felt that I had to in this particular case. This hotel is unique in that you find yourself in a historical house with a few individual rooms all kept as they originally were, plus plumbing, etc. work well, which is not always the case in historical houses. The included breakfast is actually a fairly spectacular brunch, served on true ceramic and artistic plates that also evoke the general historical theme of the house. If there are other guests in the house, you get to know them at breakfast, because you sit together at a large table and you can hear their stories and saying yours. If there aren’t, you are placed in a nice room that in a normal restaurant would be considered a luxury lunch setting. The host is super nice. All of this comes at a cost just slightly above the other standard and, I assume, relatively anonymous local alternatives. If from Silicon Valley you want to take a weekend in a peaceful peace just two hours away or you are going to Yosemite and want a nice break in the middle, this is an excellent choice.
