We have just returned from a lovely holiday at Turquesa Mar. It is a friendly family hotel with a range of options to keep the kids entertained a short walk from the Marina and beach at Cala'n Bosch and a 25 min bus ride from the beautiful Ciutadella. We stayed in a single bed apartment with our two children. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was clean and had the space we needed. It included a fridge and kitchenette which were useful throughout the week. Our apartment was in block 4 which was away from the pool / bar area and therefore quieter, we slept well with little noise and comfortable temperatures thanks to the Aircon with separate controls in the lounge and bedroom. The hotel has a large swimming pool area and we found the separation of shallower child friendly areas, deeper adult areas and a separate activity pool worked really well. There is also an indoor pool and a quiet pool near block 4. The staff were helpful and friendly throughout. Especially the TUI Blue entertainment staff who were fantastic with the kids. Alex is a real star and so entertaining. Yollie was also fantastic and really looked after our daughters during the mini disco. Also my daughter learned more in a 30 minute swimming lesson with Sarah than she had in many classes at home. There is a buffet style restaurant and a separate a la carte you can visit once during your stay. We only used the main buffet restaurant and found the food to be varied and very tasty. We really enjoyed the sea bass, local pork dishes, theme nights and the range of vegetable options. Also the thin pizza at lunch time was great. With a buffet style it is hard to get all dishes perfectly cooked and the shellfish (Prawns, Mussels, Clams ect) on the seafood night ended up a bit over cooked (there were always plenty of alternative options). The restaurant is fully self serviced and despite signs saying to wait for a waiter to pour a beer for you, we were not offered a drink and followed other guests in helping ourselves. The beer and soft drinks are internationally recognised brands and we found the local spirits used for long drinks to be of good quality. The cocktails were a bit sweet for our tastes though. Finally It would have been great to have outdoor seating for the main restaurant. Overall a lovely family break with many memories
