We truly enjoyed our stay from beginning to end. The hospitality from Richard and his entire team is exceptionally attentive – you feel welcome from the very first moment. The rooms are beautiful, each with many thoughtful details and its own retreat-like character that instantly creates a sense of comfort. Everything you need for a relaxing stay is provided. They also respond to individual wishes with genuine warmth and care. A big thank you to Richard and the whole team – our time with you was truly restorative. We would love to come back.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Cape Vermeer. Communication with Richard was fantastic from the minute I booked and any questions we had were answered really quickly. Our room was beautiful, overlooking the bay and the gardens surrounding it were most impressive. We had everything we needed for our stay and the room was really well equipped with also a little kitchen area if you decided to stay in and eat. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the bathroom stunning with a separate toilet. Breakfast is served either on the patio or a lovely summerhouse if the weather is inclement. Such a wonderful way to start the day. The lovely ladies bring out breakfast in a basket which has a large selection of fruit, croissants, muffins and yogurt. You then have a hot choice of the day, the soufflé omelette my husband had one morning was delicious. Richard was there to greet us and every day there to advise places we could visit, where we could eat and the best vineyards to visit as Cape Vermeer is in the middle of some of the best wineries and golf courses in the region.My husband played golf at De Zalze which we can highly recommend. We also ate at Rykaarts restaurant and watched the sun setting. Ubers are easy to get while you’re there so no worries about driving after wine tasting. We cannot thank Richard enough for our wonderful stay and also for ordering my husband a delicious chocolate cake for his birthday which was presented at breakfast with the staff singing Happy Birthday. Thank you and will definitely be back x

**A little piece of paradise on earth!** Our very first visit to Caper Vermeer in Somerset West, South Africa, couldn't have started better – we truly landed in paradise. A 60th birthday celebration I won't soon forget. Our room was beautifully decorated, meticulously cared for in both comfort and style. Breakfast in the lovely spring garden was an absolute highlight; the basket was overflowing with all sorts of delicious treats. Calling an Uber or renting a car was easy and convenient, with all the nearby wine estates within easy reach, of course. And what truly made our stay unforgettable was the warm, genuine hospitality of Richard & Bart from Cape Vermeer – we've never felt so welcome. We'd already read all the tips on the website, and Richard was able to give us a few extras. Without a doubt, a perfect experience. We can not wait to return! I felt like I was staying in the beautiful, loved home of one of my favourite friends. Amazing staff, delicious food, glorious view, hospitality and generosity and sharing and guidance. Breakfast was a highlight with a surprise package of picnic basket - and an afternoon glass of champagne - overlooking the most beautiful gardens. Richard was a total gentleman, even booking hair and nail appointments for me! I want to stay there for a year and write my book! Thank you so much!

Wonderful experience at Cape Vermeer, from the moment we stepped onto the property until we left, Richard and his team provided an excellent service. The rooms are very spacious, and includes well-appointed storage, a kitchenette, under-cover heating, nice size shower, great bathroom amenties and wonderful breakfast, comprising of continental offering of muffins, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, served daily in a picnic basket as well as a hot breakfast that is different each day. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountaints and the property has a really beautiful garden to relax and watch the birds in.

Beautiful views and 5 star service is what we got at Cape Vermeer. Set up on a hill and in a quiet area it gives guests time to relax, swim and take in the scenery. The breakfast is out of this world with bread/croissants, yoghurt, fruit and home made granola served in a picnic hamper to your table and then you also have an option of a cooked breakfast. Thank you Richard and team for making our stay very special
