Wir haben ein paar wundervolle Tage mit Freunden im «At Winkfield House» verbracht – und waren rundum begeistert. Das Anwesen ist ruhig gelegen, wunderschön gepflegt und bietet einen tollen Blick auf die Berge und Weinberge rund um Somerset West. Die Zimmer sind stilvoll eingerichtet, sehr sauber und komfortabel – ideal, wenn man als Gruppe unterwegs ist, aber trotzdem Privatsphäre schätzt. Besonders schön fanden wir die gemütlichen Terrassen und den herrlichen Garten, der viel Platz zum Zusammensitzen und Entspannen bot. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit. Man merkt sofort, dass ihnen das Wohl der Gäste wirklich am Herzen liegt. Das Frühstück war köstlich und liebevoll zubereitet – der perfekte Start in den Tag. Wir haben die zentrale Lage sehr geschätzt: In wenigen Minuten ist man bei Weingütern, Restaurants, am Strand oder in Stellenbosch. Gleichzeitig ist das Winkfield House ein wunderbar ruhiger Rückzugsort. Fazit: Ein perfekter Ort für Freunde, die gemeinsam entspannen, genießen und die Schönheit der Kapregion erleben möchten. Absolut empfehlenswert – wir kommen gerne wieder!

Simply the best stay at Somerset West ! Large bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Two quiet terraces with a view, sun or shadow. Robert is taking care with outstanding tips . Many daytours in the surrounding, with the sun always between 20-30 degrees.

We spent wonderful, relaxing days at Winkfield House. The guest house is located in a very quiet and safe area. The entire complex, garden, pool and rooms are very well maintained and clean. The start to the day was complemented by a hearty breakfast and the many excursion tips from our hosts Katharina and Robert. We really enjoyed our stay!

It is great to be again in South Africa after four years and finding that At Winkfield life has made a good place even better. It started by Robert, the owner, picking me up at the airport and helping me to get a rental car that was in a proper condition. Then he guided me through a safe route to the guest house and there I was greeted by Katharina his wife and his increased family of two children and five dogs. It was like returning home to my family of yesteryears. Everything in order and clean and perfect, just like at mom’s house. It is lovely to be back!

Have spent several weeks over 2022 At Winkfield, with friends and family. It's amazing, relaxing, quiet and beautiful place. A location I will always return there when traveling to the Cape. Nice people, very high attention even for individual requests. Just a lovely oasis in this beautiful region. Everything up or above of what you would like to expect. Ever since I travelled there, the standard has been kept, not easy, considering what this country went through.

The best location in the whole Region!! My Girlfriend an I visited South Africa and we liked the vacation and the Guesthouse so much. The Guesthouse has everything you need. The Area: 5/5 In the area it is quiet although you are in the middle of the city. The Garden is beautiful and groomed. Furthermore there is a Pool with many Options to lay down and relax After a long day. Also there is a small bar with self-service and the owner maked you Drinks in the evening when you ask him. The Room: 4/5 We stayed in one of the small rooms (like Hotel Room) and it was so comfortable. The bed was soft, the air conditioner was strong so the room cools down fast. We also had a small fridge in the room. Positive: The owners are very kind and nice. You can ask them for tips and Tricks for your trips. Also the connection to the freeway is nice. You are in under 5 minutes on the N1 and in around 20min in Cape Town. We liked our stay there and will definetly come back.

From mid-January to early March, as in previous years, we spent a wonderful time in South Africa. We had a wonderful time with Robert and Katharina and their two children. We were given a warm welcome and were well looked after in every respect. The property with the wonderful pool and the sensational view towards the Cape lets you really enjoy your holiday to the fullest. Only the load shedding, which is now more frequent than in previous years, spoils the stay in South Africa. This does not just affect Winkfield House, but the whole region. However, we will be back with Robert and Katharina next year and are already looking forward to it!

From February 8th to 15th, 2023 was my first, but certainly not last, vacation in South Africa. I felt VERY comfortable in the Winkfield guesthouse with Robert and Katharina. A beautiful and very clean room with a large bathroom. DELICIOUS breakfast buffet - nothing was left to be desired. LARGE pool with a very beautiful garden. Parking in the yard.
