Passport Inn Somers Point - Somers Point

We have stayed at the Passport Inn many times over the years, and recently were there from 7/31-8/3/2024. My wife and I find this to be our happy place and we were pleased to find it still to be the same. Our son and his friend actually treated us to this getaway. We love the long-time owner, Mr. Gandhi, we love the pool and we love the location. The proximity to the Crab Trap restaurant (short walk across the street) is a bonus if you like great seafood and have plenty of time to enjoy a special meal. The Point Diner is next door and is a great casual place to eat, as well. The Passport rooms are maintained and are clean. The TV and A/C (a little loud) are adequate. The beds are comfortable and pillows (three per bed) are good. For big adults, the towels are small. Bring your own absorbent bath towels if possible. The water pressure is good in the shower. The prices are reasonable and weekday rates are likely lower than weekend rates. We hope to return next year and if we do, life is good. I am thankful that The Passport Inn has been a bright spot in my life since the 1990s.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in April. The exterior of the hotel looks a bit run down, and the person who checked us in was taciturn, at best. But our room was very clean and comfortable. There are a number of good restaurants near the hotel, and it is near the Garden State Parkway. Great value, at least in the shoulder season.

The room was very clean, we had a microwave and refrigerator which were also very clean. It is not a large motel, but had a nice swimming pool and area to relax. It is located right next to the Point Diner where you can eat. There is also a WAWA within walking distance and you are right near the bridge for Ocean City. Clean room, easy access - and reasonably priced.

Booked a room here for one night in December. Very disappointing stay. The room was not very clean. Lots of dust on the bathroom door, mold on the sheer window curtains. Shower was lukewarm and the tub did not drain so I was in ankle deep water during my shower. Worst part of the stay...the heater wasn't working, and we were freezing. The owner lent us a space heater and turned the heater in the room up to 85. The heater was so loud we had trouble sleeping. No apology from the owner. Will never stay here again. If you do stay here avoid room 121 at all costs.

We just needed an overnight stay in the Somers Point area, and this place fit the bill - it's quite inexpensive, close to the bridge to Ocean City, NJ, close to several restaurants, etc. All good things. Like most 'Mom & Pop' motels: - parking, while right outside your door, is tight (fortunately, not too many guests in late Sept, so not a problem for us) - king bed took up most of room (bed was OK, not newest model), and chair between end of bed & desk made it hard to pass by - we ended up moving the chair ('way outdated) out of the way, over into the corner - minimal amount of towels, kleenex ran out, sorta musty smell in room (which we aired out by keeping windows open), but, did I mention it's cheap, so wadda expect? - Never understand why the trash haulers have to come to motels at 4:45 am and wake everyone up by dumping the dumpster and making lots of noise with their truck engines, trash dumping, but they just do! So, all-in-all, OK for a short stay well within your budget!

This motel was a very good value for the money. We had recently stayed in a similar price hotel elsewhere which was frankly a dump, so we were a bit nervous about this one. It was very clean, beds were made and the room was cleaned daily. There was a coffee maker in the room, as well as a Keurig available in the office all day long. Internet was not very strong, which ordinarily would not be a problem on vacation, but we had a couple of business meetings on Zoom we had to attend, and ended up using the hotspot on our phones. The pool was very clean. The magnetic key cards were a bit annoying, as we had to have them reprogrammed a couple of times. All in all it was a very good value for our money and a pleasant place to stay. I would definitely return there!
