Barceló Maya Palace - All Inclusive

My mom and I came To Barceló maya palace to celebrate both of our birthdays and we had a blast !! Everyone was amazing. Everado helped us make reservations to each restaurant we wanted to go to during our stay and he was exceptional, very kind and sweet. The picture below was given to my mom from the staff and we dearly appreciate it ( i had Some to because it’s almost my birthday )

My husband and I along with our adult daughter, her now fiancee (they were engaged while here❤️) and another couple vacationed here at Barcelo Maya Palace from January 17 - 24. This resort is excellent all around! The staff are amazing! They are very attentive to your needs and very friendly! The resort(s) is clean. Our room was large, clean, well appointed and very comfortable with daily stocked fridge of cervesas, juice, soda, water, and snacks. The washrooms in public spaces that we visited were always being staffed and cleaned. The food in the a la cartes were always very good and if there was one thing we weren't to fond of, guaranteed the rest of the meal was amazing! 6 people, 6 different tastes, we all found positive things to say about something and enjoyed them very much! The buffets were very good, I have been to a lot of AI's and this was the best by far!! We ate at Hacienda the most, they had great Mexican dishes! I would like to especially mention Ramon Pevez! We would have him as our server at the Hacienda Buffet most days for lunch or breakfast and he is just the sweetest and so very thoughtful hard working young gentleman! He and Job Gomez made our meals that much more enjoyable! He even prepared an awesome dessert, special coffee's, and mimosas on our last day ❤️. Drinks at the pool bars and lobby were awesome and we definitely imbibed! The pools are amazing, so many to choose from while staying at the Palace as you have access to the other resorts. The beach is beautiful and we got to swim with the turtles 🐢 which was a highlight for my daughter and I! My soon to be son in law proposed to my daughter on the point in front of the Palace, what an amazing backdrop at golden hour 💞. We had the best time at the Palace and can't wait to return, we're already talking about planning our next visit!!

With many frustrating experiences concerning the room assignments, Sofia, in the premium club came through 100% for our family to be moved into a more reasonable location. She was also very helpful in explaining how to make our next visit go without any miscommunications. Give Sofia a big plus for her patience and assistance.

Our family has been coming here since 2016. We really enjoy the staff and how friendly and good they are with guests. The wait staff and the buffet and restaurants especially stand out. Beach is clean and the resort is so big, you never feel crowded. We can’t stand the resorts where everyone gets up at 5am with towels in hand to hog up the chairs. Here you really don’t have that problem. Food is diverse although similar, but I have been to worse. We enjoy the breakfast buffet the most, lots to choose from. Our biggest sore spot with this place is the Premium check in process, it takes forever per group. It happens almost every time we go here. If there is two more groups ahead of you, prepare to wait at least 20 minutes per group. After a long flight waiting 45 minutes to check-in is crazy. They usually have two people working even though there are three check in stations. First passports photocopied, then pay the eco fee, sign the forms, bracelets need to be put on, explanation of all the resort activities, and then reserve your restaurants if they even have availability. Now if your room isn’t ready yet, you have to make a trip back to activate the braclets to your room. Why can’t they streamline the process with pre check and prebook restaurants online? Other places have that option. Or get extra personnel during peak times. Not a great way to start a vacation. We hope they can fix his issue one day

Family trip. Three children under 5. I wonder if this resort isn’t what it used to be? Main concern really was the service. Phone calls about tours waking us up at 8:00 two days in a row. Housekeeping not coming by until 18:00 despite several phone calls saying they were coming right away - and finally a visit to the management. Staff in some good/bar locations acted as if visitors were an inconvenience to them. The “premium” doesn’t ensure much more than a faster check-in and a one-person bottle of prosecco with one glass in your room. The food was below average for all inclusives. A few anecdotal reports of food poisoning by other guests staying there at the same time. It’s a nice spot for a family - connecting properties adds variety but it seems to have lost sight of how to ensure basic service is met.
