Bathrooms **** water in all the bathrooms two hours of waiting for check in at check out they charged me for a child that was included in the reservation wet beds horrible food old facility the worst hotel not recommended to anyone

The Palace was nice and the food was good. It is a long trip from the airport. Bring a insulated mug for o/s draft beer they only have plastic cups.

I was very disappointed with my recent stay. From the start, the check-in experience was unpleasant — the staff member who assisted me was rude and unprofessional. First impressions are everything, and unfortunately, mine set the tone for the rest of my trip. The bartenders I encountered were also dismissive and unfriendly, which made me feel unwelcome instead of relaxed. Another major issue was the lack of available seating around the pool and beach areas. Although I was told that chairs could not be reserved, that was clearly not the case. Many chairs sat empty but “held” for long periods, leaving other guests without anywhere to sit. The entertainment was another letdown. It was geared almost entirely toward children, with little to nothing for adults. What was provided ended quickly and lacked energy, variety, and excitement. For a resort that promotes a full vacation experience, this was extremely disappointing. Overall, the combination of rude staff, poor service, limited amenities, and lackluster entertainment made this vacation far less enjoyable than I had hoped. I paid for a relaxing and well-rounded experience, but unfortunately, the resort did not deliver on its promises.

nothing bettter than getting up swimming with the turtles at the Palace beach and then going to the pool for relaxation. Walk the beautiful grounds with tropical vegetation and see the iquanas peaking otu at you all while the service and kindness will overwhelm you with a welcoming feelingThere's nothing quite like starting your day by swimming with the turtles at Palace Beach! After that, you can unwind by the pool and soak in the sun. Take a leisurely walk through the gorgeous grounds filled with tropical plants, and keep an eye out for the curious iguanas peeking at you. The warm and friendly service will make you feel right at home—it's such a welcoming experience!

Our 3rd trip to Barcelo Maya. 1st time at Palace and we stayed premium pool view, ground floor pretty much as close to the beach as possible. 1 king bed. The grounds are immaculate. The staff friendly, the drinks good. No issues getting a la cartes that we wanted at reasonable times. Great snorkeling at the rocks at the Palace end of the beach. Saw a couple of shows. Palace theatre is nice as it's indoors and has a/c. This resort has yet to disappoint.

We were extremely disappointed with our experience at this property. Our group of nine guests reserved four premium-level rooms and expected a higher standard of service. Unfortunately, from the moment we checked in, we were left completely uninformed—no orientation, no explanation of amenities, and no guidance. For a hotel marketed as a luxury resort, the experience felt more like a poorly managed budget motel. The front desk staff, in particular, were dismissive and unhelpful, leaving us with the impression that once payment was collected, any concerns or dissatisfaction became solely our problem. The lack of professionalism at the reception was in stark contrast to the housekeeping and grounds staff, who were consistently kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The dining experience was another major disappointment. The buffet offered some of the lowest-quality food we have ever encountered at a resort, far below expectations for a property of this caliber. Additionally, our “oceanfront” room did not provide an ocean view at all. Instead, it overlooked a children’s pool, offering no privacy and making the “oceanfront” designation feel misleading at best. Paying extra for this upgrade felt like a complete waste.
