Beautiful secluded location with large beach covered in palm trees. Hotel doing best to keep clearing seaweed and people still going in sea despite not being clear water. Daily fitness and entertainment classes just fantastic and well worth trying. Professional dancers every night who do shows across multiple locations in the complex. Beautiful landscaping, planting and shallow pools of fish in between areas make for interesting walks around the grounds. Food was really good and lovely to eat outside by pool area most days. Big choice of a la carte but hard to book suitable times unless get to conciege early every day. Mixed quality with some better than others

Hotel was nice, good choice of restaurants (however as a group of 8 we had to queue every morning at 8am to make an al a carte booking in reception) Food was nice, service in the buffet was a little slow and often had to wait for items at breakfast to be refreshed. Sunbeds weren't a problem in our first week however the second week as it got busier all good bed were reserved by 8am. Due to fixed parasols very limited beds in the shade. Day Entertainment was good from paddle yoga to aqua aerobics. Unable to do any water sports due to the seaweed (which stunk) being at issue at this time, so the beach wasn't useable at all and even though hotel attempted to move it, it was a losing battle. Cocktails were nice with a good selection - especially Churchills Bar. The pool was clean however rather deep, I'm 5ft 8 and I could barely touch the bottom on my tiptoes. so had to swim/float to the swim up bar and had to drink them there as no way of getting anywhere in the water with them. (recommend bringing a floating tray) Hotel is situated over an hour away from Cancun so not a lot to do close to hotel if you want to visit local shops etc (transport is so expensive even to get into playa del carmen was going to be £80 by taxi) 24/7 sports bar was nice and air conned, however no sports to play i.e. pool/snooker etc. Great place to just pick up that snack though. Evening entertainment was repetitive and only only has a 1 week cycle. The white party/neon party was just music by the beach, the fire show was a let down it was dancers moving holding fire - no flame throwing etc.

Fantastic 11 nights, the food was great in all of the restaurants and a lovely atmosphere also. Rooms were good,clean and mini bar kept well stocked. The beach was lovely and clean and always plenty of loungers. Just like to shout out to Roxana and Anna from around the main pool, they looked after us, always had a smile and made our holiday more enjoyable, keeping the drinks flowing. We are already planning our next visit.

Overall, our hotel experience was great. Most of the staff were communicative and welcoming, which made our stay enjoyable. However, we did encounter a few instances of poor customer service, particularly in the area where we waited for transportation carts. On several occasions, when we specifically requested Javier, we were met with dismissive responses such as, “Javier’s job is to transport luggage” and “you can take that cart over there instead.” This lack of helpfulness was disappointing and stood out in contrast to the otherwise positive environment. That said, two individuals truly elevated our experience through their exceptional service. Javier Botonos from Colonial (Bellboy) went above and beyond during our stay. He was consistently attentive, responded promptly to our requests, and displayed a remarkable work ethic. His passion for customer service was clear, and his professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication made a significant impact. He set a high standard for hospitality. Federico from Housekeeping also made a strong impression. After our initial housekeeping service didn’t return following our request for a delay due to our infant’s nap, Federico stepped in. He quickly and thoroughly cleaned our room, showing great attention to detail and genuine concern for the oversight. His responsiveness and care were greatly appreciated. Without the exceptional service of Javier and Federico, our overall impression of the customer service would have been notably less positive. These two team members made a real difference in our stay, and we are grateful for their dedication.

We went to the Japanese restaurant and Araceli was the best!!! So attentive and she comforted my 6 year old because the fire from the grill scared her!🥰 Amazing service

What a great place to relax in the sun! Felt like we were in the heart of a jungle with all the wonderful wildlife allowed to roam around. The service was great and the pool area really fun. Can’t wait to come back!
