Ocean Maya Royale Adults Only - All Inclusive

Hello, We travelled as a couple with our paretns and stayed in hotel for 2 weeks. Hotel location is good. Not too far from airport (for us) and close to Playa Del Carmen. Based on our expirience we will share some pros and cons of hotel. Pros 1. Overall tasty food, with variety of choice. Daily themes such as mexican, asian, italian etc. The only one problem with food was that during dinner when it's get busier you can wait a long for re-fill of food as we saw very often empty plates and it was not just before closure of restauran but in the middle of dinner. We never used any a'la carte restaurants so not sure if there is any difference. There is Mike's Coffe bar in the lobby with massive choice of differet coffies. The only one problem is that they randomly give you take away cup even when you ask for normal glass as you wnt to drink there, not away. 2. Friendly staff all over the place. Bar, Pool Bar, Waitresses, Snack Bar, not a single bad expirience. Evryone helpfull and supportive. Of course if you will leave a tip on bar they will remember you and for example after two days and couple of tips they didn't even asked what i want as bartender already knew what i need :D 3. Clean rooms, with regular change of towels. Fridge always re-filled with soft drinks or beer. AC worked very well. Spacious room as well. Free safe in room, so you can leave your more expensive belongis closed but i left couple of times tablet or something out and of course nothing stolen. 4. Daily activities pretty much ok. I think i wanted to go and take part once or twice for ice bath on the beach and it didn't happen as per schedule so i'm not sure if it;s not updated. 5. App - first time i had hotel with app where you can find all details about everything about hotel and your stay. very useful 6. Braclet instead of card to open your room is also very good thing and much mor convinietn Cons: 1. Sunbeds - as per policy you cannot reserve but 5/6 AM most of the sunbeds are reserved already, it's a common practice and not actions are taken to prvent it. 2. It's hotel adults only, unfortunatly because of that some people behave like kids and midday already drunk and noisy. I get it's a holiday but sometimes people behave like animals. 3. Language barrier - considering that tourists are coming from Europe and North America English should be bit better. It's not a massive problem but sometimes it's hard to communicate. IT'S NOT HOTEL FAULT but it's good to understand that issue. Seeweed - sargassum. Hotel work on that on daily basis, whole day, doing everything to get rid of it. Unfortuantaky at the time when we wre there issue with it was massive, not only in our hotel but whole Playa Del Carmen. If you're very sensitive in terms of smell, it will be difficoult to survive. For us first day was a nightmere. 1000 rotten eggs in your house for a year and you can get this type of smell, horrible. Hi all, this is my 7th time at this resort and once again I have not been disappointed. The hotel is spotless, great location, lovely food. If you want a quiet holiday or a fun filled holiday or both it is the perfect place to go. Need to mention the staff as they are all so hard working, starting with the Zaire, hostess in buffet restaurant, she can't do enough for you. The pool bar staff, Miguel, Eber, Johnny, and Diego, these guys are so hard working and will do anything to help you. The entertainment staff never stop going out there way to make your holiday so enjoyable, but have to give a big shout out to 2 in particular, Kendal and Viri, they are so friendly and work so hard, and so much fun. They made our holiday extra special. We ate in all restaurants except the Japanese and can't fault any, food was amazing in all. So see you all next year.
