Lumberville 1740 House

We stayed at the 1740 house recently, while visiting New Hope for my nephew's wedding. New Hope is a charming town, with a very eclectic, artsy vibe... definitely a tourist destination. The weekend that we were there, they hosted a PrideFest, and although we didn't venture in, we heard wonderful things about the Pride Parade. The location was perfect, as the wedding venue was very close. Our rooms were very accommodating, and the service was outstanding. The inn is extremely quaint, cozy and comfortable. It sits on the Delaware River, which all of our rooms overlooked. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very attentive. We had a small but lovely balcony, which overlooked the river, as most of the rooms did, and there was a general outdoor patio area, where we enjoyed our morning coffee and breakfast. There were a few nearby paths for running and strolling. The complementary morning breakfast was very good. With some of us being non dairy vegetarians, they were very accommodating, once we informed them of our dietary needs. They even went so far as to make a delicious vegan cream cheese to go with the bagels that are part of the spread. I will say, the rooms are very close together ... door to door in some cases, but we loved that because we had many family members there. If we are ever in New Hope again, we will certainly make a repeat visit, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 1740 house to others.

An enjoyable getaway destination. Rooms are very nice; quiet, view the Delaware River and are very clean. Entire staff is genuinely friendly, helpful and efficient. Included breakfast and access to their 1740 club for drinks and dinner a big plus. Look forward to my next visit.

Super clean, quiet place. exactly what I was looking a weekend getaway

A relaxing haven Room was beautiful. We had a fireplace and a nice size balcony. Bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel was extremely clean and well kept. We had dinner in the dining room and that was a real treat. The food was so amazing (especially the desserts). Service was impeccable and everyone was very polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Another happy stay at the 1740 House. Innkeepers Judy and Bobbie treat you like family. The breakfasts are very good. The crepes today were awesome! The rooms are super clean and well stocked. Thank you housekeepers! Overall another excellent stay! Thank you 1740 House! P.S. The scenery is second to none!
