This family-run hotel is in Balestrand, by the Sogne Fjord. It has a large garden, a private sauna and beach, and panoramic fjord views. Each guest room includes a private bathroom.
The reception includes a bar and a nice lounge area. The reception area also offers a pool table and board games available free of use for all the guests. On occasions there will be concerts, standup, yoga, bingo and quiz-nights.
A daily breakfast buffet is available, but please note that we no longer serve it at our hotel. You can still add breakfast to your booking at Balestrand Hotel, but the breakfast is served at our neighbor hotel Kviknes Hotel - a short 2 min walk alongside the Sognefjord.
All of Balestrand Hotel’s rooms have a seating area. Some have a balcony looking over the fjord, while others look back towards the mountains.

Loved the fjord view. Finally a bit more room than some other rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Croissants for breakfast. Kids play space and book exchanges for kids and adults including lots in English. Would stay here again and recommend it as well.

The Balestrand hotel is terrific! It is clean, comfortable, centrally-located, and offers wonderful views of the fjord. The staff is engaging, fun, attentive, and responsive to any need. The vibe is casual, comfortable, and accepting of diverse visitors. The rooms were a bit dated, but cover the basics. Moreover, the common area downstairs is a very comfortable and fun place to hang out. Highly recommend!

We arrived at Balestrand Hotel with my boyfriend before the season started. Sandra the owner told us the whole story about it and how her family renovated it to give it a very modern style. She is extremely nice! The hotel has an incredible view to the sea and in August they hold a mini music festival. If you’d like a pop kind of experience, mixed with great service and facilities this is the place. I highly recommend it!

Hotel tre stelle con vista spettacolare sul fiordo. Balestrand è un posto meraviglioso per chi ama la natura e camminare, non ci sono divertimenti, 2 i supermercati. I ragazzi della reception sono gentilissimi, Styrk in particolare ci ha raccontato molti aspetti della Norvegia. La colazione può essere fatta in un hotel vicino oppure sono a disposizioni panini, marmellata e caffè latte. Di fronte c'è una spiaggia con sauna con vista sul fiordo. Nella hall c'è un biliardo e dei bei dipinti naif. Le stanze e i bagni andrebbero decisamente rimodernate (magari togliendo la moquette).

Atmosfera familiare e personale disponibile e gentile. Struttura e arredi un pò datati ma tutto confortevole. camera spaziosa con letti comodi. viene servita anche una colazione con latte, caffè, croissant e marmellata. dotato di comodo parcheggio per l'auto. antistante l'hotel c'e' una spiaggetta con sauna sul fiordo. Ottima la posizione.

Points positifs : vue magnifique avec un petit balcon, accueil très sympathique et serviable, centre du petit village à 2 minutes à pied. Points faibles : aucune insonorisation entre les chambres (on a compris pourquoi il y avait des boules Quies offertes avec les produits de toilette !) on entend tout et c’est vraiment pénible, prévoir un masque car les rideaux ne sont pas occultants, pas de petit déjeuner mais thé / café avec croissants (un petit déjeuner est possible dans un autre hôtel avec une ristourne de 25%).

We had a room with a view out to the fjord and we were so happy that we did. The view is beautiful and this is gem of a hotel. Very friendly atmosphere, easy to walk anywhere in Balestrand and tasty croissants and coffee in the morning. We loved our stay.

WOW, what a place! Great accommodations, friendly staff, comfortable beds, great restaurant nearby, shower was hot and great water pressure and a view to die for. I don’t know how it can get better than this. Love this place. If you are in Norway, this is it.
