Salish is under a bit of construction & the staff couldn’t be better in compensating for that. Margarita was our server in the lounge & she is delightful. The food is excellent. I had a bowl of clam chowder and fresh biscuits cozied up to the fire. There is a calming smell of sage when you arrive that I just loved. Can’t wait to come back and see the finished remodel!

Today, I drove about 25 miles out to Salish Lodge planning to have a late lunch in the “Attic” cafe or in the main restaurant, both of which overlook Snoqualmie Falls. There is only valet parking at the Lodge so as I pulled-up I rolled down my window and told the three men standing at the valet booth that I was just coming for a late lunch but was not staying at the Lodge. They looked at each other and one guy said “That’s fine.” He came around and asked me for my last name and then parked my car maybe 15-20 yards away from the Lodge entrance — basically, right in front. Before walking upstairs to the Attic, I wanted to wash my hands but the women’s bathroom on the main floor was out of order. The bathroom just outside of the Attic café was open but not clean —with an overflowing waste bin. I washed my hands and then tried to go to the Attic but it was closed. There’s a lot of construction going on at Salish Lodge so I don’t know if the Attic is open at all or if it was just closed at 3:00 when I arrived. So I headed down to the main restaurant. It too was closed. So I went to the front desk to ask if any of the restaurants were serving food. She said that they were closed in between brunch and dinner. She did say that I could have a drink in the bar and order snacks. It was a beautiful day so I had no interest in a very dark windowless bar, located in the interior lobby. I wondered why the valet guys didn’t just tell me that the Lodge restaurants were all closed. Anyway, I went out and said that none of the restaurants are open so I need my car. The same guy who had just parked my car six or seven minutes earlier went and got it. I checked my wallet and I didn’t have even one dollar in it so I said to him “Hey, I’m sorry I don’t have any cash with me, but I’ll say a prayer for you as the tip!” He looked at me and snarled ”THAT does me no good!!!” I wish I had thought to say to him “It does me no good for you to park my car when you know that all the Lodge restaurants are closed! I won’t be back to Salish Lodge again!

My family and I did not stay in the Salish lodge but made reservations for brunch. My daughter made our reservations ahead of time for a table with a view upstairs in your restaurant which was confirmed. However, when we arrived the receptionist had to find his boss to confirm whether or not we could be seated upstairs and if there would be a server available to wait our table. We were finally seated and Margarita was our server. She did her best managing up/down the stairs so we appreciated that and she was nice. However, our food (2 orders of pancakes) did not arrive hot and the taste was average. My Dutch baby was dense instead of light and airy as I remember a Dutch baby to be and the taste was average. I mentioned this to Margarita. What was good were the vegan omelet, roasted potatoes, the fruit compote, the raspberry mimosa and English breakfast tea. We came with a nice eating experience in mind for all of us to compliment the amazing view but unfortunately that did not happen.

We enjoyed our stay, and there is much to like about Salish, and some room for improvement. The lobby, halls and rooms are perfect. Modern, rustic and cozy. Showers and bath products are lovely. Its not luxurious. Dont think Ritz Carlton. It feels a little more upper mid range, like a nice Marriott. Which is fine. But you wont be blown away with elegance in the halls etc. We stayed on the fourth floor spa level. Only complaint is having to walk through the spa everytime to use the one elevator was a bit awkward and weird. The room at around $400 a nite for just a window view was a bit much for a “deluxe” room. I would have paid less for a view of the parking lot. No balcony made the “deluxe” price tag a hard sell in hindsight. The experiences (mixed): We spent about $1000 at the spa. Lovely and attentive staff. But a little chaotic. Checking in and waiting for our appointments with about 100 other couples (im exaggerating) in a small space made it feel a bit impersonal. People were called for their appointments like waiting in a doctor’s office.. it was that busy. Services were ok. Booked the private spa area. Pool deck was dirty and grimy. Felt rushed out of our allotted time. Ate all our meals here. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Sat in the dark lobby, it did not have the ambiance I was expecting. Dinner in the temp attic was good. Some dishes were excellent, others not as good. The servers were all fantastic. A weak area is the hostesses downstairs who all seemed very young, a little aloof and not super warm. They would check you in, then take 5-10 min to seat you. Weird. The absence of the dining room and meals with a view, really detracted from the experience, Im not gonna lie. Not their fault. Finally, we ordered lunch from room service. $100. Food was awful. I made mention twice, after delivery and at check out, when the charge was still on my bill. No outreach from a manager either time, no comp. This would have been removed from our bill immediately at a high end hotel. There were some other similar minor issues that required multiple requests due to disorganization or training amongst the young staff. So in short.. no major complaints. Food quality, ambiance, and manager presence lacking, for the price tag.

We ate lunch at the lodge and was served by Sandy Mazou. The food was great and the service was excellent! We had a really great experience. Sandy even brought us some of the restaurants biscuits and jam which were incredible! I would highly recommend eating here.

Today we met Sandy and she was wonderful in taking care of us for a late lunch. The food was wonderful as well. We had a burger and salad and they were both so flavorful. The food was fresh. The bar area was neat and clean and very inviting. It was quiet enough that we could have a conversation We can't wait to visit again soon.
