Fantastic food, really friendly - a proper old pub that does everything well. Cant wait to go back - probably Sunday for the roast!!

I recently spent 10 days on holiday at the local campsite, and this became my 'local' for the duration. I must say I was well looked after and made to feel very welcome by the locals and staff, especially Adam, who ensured a first-class service and that an excellent variety of rums were readily available. I also enjoyed a delicious meal here one evening. Dom the chef's Persian chicken, which was cooked to perfection. The pub is amazingly quirky, with a lovely, slightly wild garden, with a great view of the Chantry Tower ruins. A great place to spend the evening! I will be back...

Local fresh coat lobster cooked to perfection with a garlic butter accompanied with herb fries. The best lobster I’ve had in a long time, thank you to their French chef Dom and the staff who made me feel extremely welcome. Great choice of wines xxx

My husband and I were down at the campsite at Slapton village and decided to book up that evening, so pleased we did. We had a very nice meal , some very tasty dishes and served by welcoming staff. The Inn is very quirky which makes it an even better experience. Our only gripe if being picky was that we felt 9.45 for last orders is early but that certainly wouldn't mean we wouldn't return or recommend.

Went here while on holiday and was over the moon. Outstanding pub. Beautiful garden with an incredible view of the tower. The food was exceptional, beautiful local seafood and delicious wine. My 6 y/o daughter had a pizza which she said was amazing. Extremely friendly and cosy atmosphere and service with a smile. Absolutely loved this pub, couldn't recommend it enough. We'll be back! Thank you so much for a lovely evening :)

Saw signs for the restaurant on our way to our holiday stay so popped in to book a table for Sunday lunch. What a find! Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, service was excellent the food was phenomenal and plentiful, we had roast beef and roast pork with a selection of vegetables highly recommend it if you in the area

Husband found this little pub on a walk so as we wanted dinner decided to pop in, we knew there was a quiz in we wanted to join too, went up at 5:45pm to find they don’t open til 6pm and were told it was fully booked but the quiz host said there had been a cancellation so we could get squeezed in, the night was a pie and quiz the food was amazing the quiz was brilliant and we were so warmly welcomed by the locals we can’t wait to go back

Had Sunday lunch and husband had fish. The food, atmosphere and service was excellent. Even more impressive that it's cooked outside on a wood burning oven. You may need to walk to the pub from a "park and walk" area, as no parking unless you are staying there, but easy 10 min walk for most people.

Lovely Sunday lunch. Food is amazing and the setting is lovely quiet oldy worldly. Chef does an amazing job to cook such wonderful food making do with the temporary cooking arrangements. Roast Beef was described as wonderful. Vegetables were superb and a meal in themselves
