This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had – and the way the management handled it made it even worse. I woke up in Room 202 covered in more than 20 fresh bed bug bites. These bites were absolutely not present before my stay. I reported the issue immediately at checkout, and the receptionist acknowledged it and told me to contact the hotel via email and send photos. Following that advice, I took photos the same day—as soon as I arrived at my next accommodation—and sent them to the hotel. Instead of taking responsibility, the hotel claimed the pictures “couldn’t have been taken at their property” and denied everything. They refused to apologize, refused to investigate, and refused any form of refund. Citing vague legal texts about pest control doesn’t change the fact that I was bitten while sleeping in your hotel. Blaming the guest and denying the obvious is not just unprofessional—it’s dishonest and insulting. Bed bugs are a serious hygiene issue. The hotel’s complete lack of accountability is appalling. I have filed a formal complaint with the authorities in North Macedonia and strongly urge other travelers to avoid this property at all costs.

We did not stay at the hotel but rather ate lunch at the restaurant. The food was incredible and the views were amazing. The restaurant is slightly more expensive compared to others but definitely worth the extra money for the view and the quality. Service was also quick and the staff were very friendly. My only critique is that you have to pay to use the toilet which is frustrating and we have not seen this anywhere else.

After one night spent in the room 202 I woke up with numerous bites all over my body—more than 20 in total—that are very clearly consistent with bed bug bites. These are quite characteristic and difficult to confuse with anything else. After I reported it to the manager he suggested that I'm lying coz the background of the pictures were not taken at the hotel (!) Well it is not coz I took them right after I arrived to my next destination as I was driving for half of the day. But he ignored the fact that I reported the issue to the reception in the morning and showed the bites, I did what the gentleman suggested to me, to take the pictures. To conclude. Avoid this place. You can recognise the real "hospitality" by the way the property handles the issue.

This hotel is located in an excellent location, right in the canyon. Our room was nice and really cozy. The staff was friendly and available; they can provide you with any kind of information on possible activities in the canyon. You can have breakfast in the restaurant, which allows excellent views on the canyon.

Matka Canyon nice view and near the capital, but better to visit during summer rather than crazy idea - hopping on the boat in the end of December which I tried (Dont be like me). After half an hour on boat, I started to shiver and fortunately that the boat is back to the entrance. I immediately rush to the restaurant and grab a hot chocolate. They even gave us some complimentary biscuits to enjoy with the drink. Price is considerable for a tourist destination.

Avoid like the plague, read the Google reviews, these guys don't care about customer service one bit they only care about profit. They overcharge for everything and care nothing about customer satisfaction.

This hotel has a great location for exploring the gorge. We spent the night here and really enjoyed it. It is about a 500m walk (with all your luggage) along a scenic pathway into the hotel from the free parking area. There is plenty of space in the parking lot in the late afternoon and evening, but during the day you won’t be able to get anywhere near it! Our room was fairly small and basic with a couple of opening windows with some pleasant views out onto the lake – nothing to rave about, but nice enough. There was no AC but a fan was provided and kept us cool in the night. There was a bit of noise in the evening/night due to a few guys hanging out in the garden and restaurant drinking, but nothing too bad. The lakeside restaurant has a beautiful setting and the food was decent as well, but a bit overpriced. The restaurant is super busy in the day with all the day-trippers, but very quiet in the evenings. The free breakfast was good, but the 9AM start time was way too late!! We actually went out on an 8km hike up into the mountains and arrived back still having to wait for the restaurant to open at 9am. Overall we had a good stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to other travelers.
