Cape Kanapitsa Hotel & Suites

The hotel on Skiathos Island provides comfortable, spacious rooms with friendly, helpful staff. Guests enjoy clean, well-equipped rooms, delicious breakfast, and convenient access to beaches and transportation.

This is not a bad hotel by any means. However, it rates itself as 5star and it most certainly is not that. As an aside the Greek Climate Resilience Fee payable on arrival is based on the hotel's star rating, so you will pay 15 euros/night for what is essentially a 3 star hotel. (the 3 star rate is 5 euros/night). The good points: absolutely amazing position with wonderful views of outlying islands, really great staff who couldn't be more helpful in all situations. The not so good: room was listed as a deluxe double room, one up from the classic, but our room was a little dated. A free standing wobbly fridge positioned in a cupboard, unreliable hot water throughout, no dressing/pool gowns in the room, and some electric sockets coming off the walls. Additionally, although the balcony was large and had a good view, the sliding doors were single glazed and let in a lot of motorbike noise late at night. The room furniture was very limited, two whicker chairs and a whicker table outside, no chairs or coffee table inside the room. I felt that the room was not a luxury room as described. On our last day we booked a classic room for the day because our flight was not until 9 pm in the evening. The classic room, whilst slightly smaller, was much smarter, with a built in fridge, dressing gowns provided, all electrics properly fitted and a coffee table and chair inside the room. The double balcony doors were smart modern double glazed units, and outside was a table and two chairs. Pool Area: the sunbeds around the pool, whilst new, were the stretched fabric type with no cushions, not likely to be comfortable for very long. We fully expected a more upmarket hotel with perhaps an evening dining area separate from the morning breakfast area. Had there been one we could have dressed up and happily paid the restaurant prices, (very weak cocktail at 14 euros as an example). Some very good points but overall disappointing
