Kassandra Bay Resort, Suites & Spa

Whilst this hotel is staffed by some very hardworking and talented people, poor senior management and lack of customer care seriously lets it down. We realised this quickly and adjusted our expectations to make the most of our holiday. Travelling with our teenage sons, we booked a 2 bedroom family room directly with the hotel some 5+ months ago, requesting a quiet room. Upon arrival, we were immediately concerned about our proximity to the road and the lack of sound proofing in the main bedroom. Laying in bed was akin to sleeping by the road, such was the volume. The large patio with wonderful sea view was seriously spolied by constant noise from the road. It was impossible to enjoy a morning coffee out there; we did try twice! Our room at the end of a long corridor was closest to the road - at the most some 5 metres away. This is the main road from the town and it bends around to the left, meaning cars, quad bikes, scooters and large lorries and coaches slow down and speed up. Whilst the sliding patio doors have some soundproofing properties, in the main bedroom the window did not, and was extremely gappy. The air conditioning unit was very noisy but actually was useful in acting as white noise to in some way mitigate the din coming from the road. The reception desk offered no assistance on our first night, although the following morning at 8.30am produced two sets of ear plugs - this ended up being the sum total of their offering during our 9 night stay costing €7500. Whilst it was a lovely terrace, time could not be enjoyed there due to the incessant noise. Three days into our stay a lady called Mary (we think) offered us a smaller room with less storage. Given we’d have to pack up and move to a poorer option, still not far from the road, we didn’t think it a decent way to use our time. We have been determined to make the most of this break despite the complete indifference of the management of the hotel. At no point has the manager (George?) spoken to us, checked in with us, introduced himself, or bid us farewell as it turned out. If he replies to this review it’s too late and would be ridiculous. The pool bar staff, cleaners, breakfast room staff and reception staff were for the most part really lovely. A very helpful lady on reception cautioned that many rooms are noisy at the hotel and that moving would unlikely help us. Unfortunately, on a number of occasions we saw the restaurant managers reprimand the staff publicly, and here, we believe, is the underlying issue. At times some staff members looked really unhappy which is awful to see and very disappointing, but understandable perhaps given our experience here of the management. Poor management filters down from above and it’s very noticeable here. We’re most grateful to the lovely people that worked hard to make our stay as good as it could be. The food is decent and the staff are attentive. It’s pretty easy to get into town and the buses are regular and inexpensive. Skiathos boat

We stayed for 3 nights to end our holiday and the hotel is definitely not 5 star standard. - most of staff are helpful and polite, we had an issue with the main reception staff who were really unhelpful and it was very much shrug shoulders and ‘there is nothing we can do’, however the bar man was so helpful and couldn’t have been nicer. - we had access to the adults only suites pool, which we were so grateful after seeing how chaotic and crowded the other two pools were. - we felt the breakfast to be really random and the worst we had during our holiday. They would serve the left over food from the restaurant (great for saving food waste) but meant one day there were Brussels sprouts and carrots as well as Mexican taco. I don’t eat meat and couldn’t have an omelette as they use one pan to cook the meat before putting the egg in. Just a basic lack of understanding different diets. It all felt quite processed and unhealthy breakfast overall. - There is a gym, it’s very old and although serves a purpose could do with updating. Also you can’t use until 9am, which makes it tight time wise for breakfast. - The room we had was run down (pictures included) and the hotel overall was run down and in need of TLC in places. We were disappointed and also over heard people around the pool saying the same. The grouting in the room was black as well but you can see from the edges should be white - so easy to deep clean, also our shower head had black mould, which was horrible. Light bulbs not working and mesh broken as well as bad paint work and other areas in the hotel being run down. - the bus stop is directly outside which is great. - the view is beautiful and there is a beach on site. - there is a water taxi to Skiathos centre, which is nice but you do have to pay. We wouldn’t stay again though and felt for the money it wasn’t worth it.

We don't usually return to the same hotel, but on deciding to return to Skiathos this year- we were drawn back to Kassandra Bay initially for the fantastic choice of food for myself as a Celiac and also the amazing views from the beautiful hotel. We were not disappointed and special thanks goes to all the food and beverage team who ensured I was very well catered for in all the restaurants with Mesoyios being our favourite. At breakfast I was always offered gf bread rolls without asking and also fresh crepes offered & prepared safely from the kitchen for me which was a lovely touch. The omelette station was also a great way to start the day - along with the fantastic selection of other buffet items which were constantly being replenished. We booked on a b&b basis but chose to eat in the hotel most evenings due to the lovely staff, atmosphere and great quality of meals. We booked a superior room with a sea view (406) and the balcony was huge with amazing views. The room was always spotlessly clean, though my only niggle would be that no milk or teabags were provided in the room - though Im sure you could get some if you asked. All in all, we had the most wonderful, relaxing holiday and we will definitely come back. Thank you

The resort offers breathtaking views, especially from the balcony. The rooms are spotless, comfortable and very well maintained. The dining experience was excellent, with a wide variety of high-quality dishes to choose from. The staff always polite, friendly and eager to assist with anything we needed. The location is also ideal, right by the sea and just a short distance from Skiathos town. Overall, Kassandra Bay Resort exceeded our expectations in every way, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Skiathos. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent . The best hotel in Skiathos. Very child friendly with helpful employees and cozy facilities. The gym the spa and the pools are fantastic. Food and bar snacks are very good
