Hotel Villa Marie

We stayed at Villa Marie for one week in august and even with the weather being hot, we enjoyed our vacation very much. Pool area provided us place to rest the most hottest hours and staff kept us comfortable with drinks or food when we needed it. In every way, staff did make our holiday so delightful, that we are thinking of going back again. Breakfast was unbelievable and we heard compliments all around from other guests. Hotel is located in the hills so there is a bit walking to marina. Nothing that to be done with time, but if you have difficulties to walk, we suggest taxi back from the village. At the time, it cost 6 euros. Owners will help you with finding restaurants, locating different beaches and all sorts of questions. Room cleaning is daily and air condition worked like a charm. Overall excellent choice when you need a quiet place to rest and enjoy Greece in our own pace.

Beautiful garden, wonderful swimmingpool. Genuin greek hotel driven by a nice family. Wonderful breakfast served at the table in the nice garden. This could be a five star if not for all the rules we got informed about along the week. We have three kids, 7, 10 and 12. First day our kids were swimming 4 pm and the owner told us swimming was not aloud between 3 and 5.30 in the afternoon because they had problem with the neighbour complaining. For us, this was the best time to hang around the pool, just after the beach, so we were a bit disappointed. We could only swim if we were silent, this is not the case when you have kids. Next day we were on our way to swim around 9.30 pm (pool were suppose to be open until 10 pm). But we were told not to swim because they were cleaning the pool… Two nights, around midnight when we just got into bed the owner called us and said we could not use the AC on 16 degrees and high fan since the motor would burn out and it was too loud for other guests. Next night when we put the aircon on 20 degrees they called us again because the noise from the AC disturbed other guests… all together this unfortunately made us feel not so welcome.. They could have informed us when we checked in about the pool and AC rules. The owner were very helpful with recommendations on tours and restaurants. And cleaning was very good. We would recommend you to have a car. You can easily walk during the night for restaurants but a car is needed during the hot days to go to nice beaches. Overall, we would say it is better for couples and adults. Syvota is a lovely place. Rent a boat and also we recommend a visit to the Anchor river

We had an excellent two weeks’ stay at hotel Villa Marie in Sivota. The hotel owner and his family were very service minded and gave us a lot of suggestions of beaches, what to do and restaurants where typical tasty Greek food was served. The breakfast at the hotel was fabulous. Bread, croissants, omelett/boiled egg, Greek yoghurt, home made jam, tomato, cucumber, olives, cake or local pastry, fruit, tea, coffe, juice and water were served at the table every morning. The breakfast was the highlight of the day. It is also a good choice to relax by the hotel’s swimmingpool and have a Greek salad which, we think, is the best in Sivota. The hotel is situated a ten minute walk from the Harbour and the centre of the village. Our room was nice and clean. For everybody who enjoys a hotel with a family like atmosphere, hotel Villa Marie is highly recomended.
