OK stay, room was reasonable size, unfortunately we got a room with 2 beds and they are tight fits against walls, not easy for a couple! Like everywhere in Sitka you start hearing road noise and people from 4am onwards. Location is good.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced directly from the hotel manager Nick Lavender (if that’s even his name). We left my AirPods and White Noise Machine (yes I know it’s on me for leaving them) but when I called the next day and tried to get them back Nick refused to investigate the situation because he said he “trusts” his staff. Let me be clear. The items were 100% left there and someone took them. There is no other option unless they grew legs and walked away. He said because he didn’t know me, I must be the one lying. When I asked to speak with the owner he said no he would not allow me to “bug him”. Mind you I was calm and professional the entire conversation. If you don’t want your items stolen DONT STAY HERE

Do not plan on getting a good night sleep the people that stay there get up at 2 am in June to go fishing and the old floors are very noisy. This entire town is very expensive plan to spend 3x on food any place you plan to eat. If there is a quiet hotel in town I would recommend that one.

Comfy Nice hotel, rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. No microwave in room or breakfast included are a downside and only ice machine was broken but staff were happy to get ice for me.

Now this is difficult because I filled out what I thought was a review a moment ago for the hotel and it turned out to be for something called the "Westmark Restaurant" which was not what I was trying to review. Trip Advisor needs to know there is not a restaurant by that name - it is another named restaurant within the hotel. So, this review is being placed properly here now, under "Hotel." This review is being posted solely for the safety of you and your family. There ARE extreme health safety issues that exist at this hotel. The amount of money being charged for stays at this hotel is literally deliberately exercising overpricing -gouging- against the public. For one, I laid down on top of this bed just to watch tv and bugs massively began biting me all over "immediately." There were tons of bugs jumping off that bed right on to me biting me through my pajamas. So, I jumped up and went to get the two spare blankets on the upper shelf to the right inside the entrance door. There was a pretty good sized pile of aged black dirt in the corner of the shelf that made it clear the room was not visited much over the years. I grabbed the two white blankets from there, put them both on top of the bed, laid down, and they were worse than the infested bed itself. This tells you these bugs existed long enough to have deeply infested literally everything over the years. It’s shocking how fast they went straight into your clothing and skin. Part of the problem at this hotel could be that over the years the turnovers in ownership happen often enough that not even local agencies couldn't identify the current ownership, everyone is evading taking an interest in it being a good, clean, place to stay. Those changes in ownership could be for likely obvious reasons. The atmosphere is coming across here that high turnovers in hotel management have provided for inexperienced response behaviors coming from some of the staff - and some just outright irresponsible in regards to safety issue in regards to the public. But somewhere in there, everyone involved that could make change, chose to ignore & subject the public to extremely dangerous unhealthy & filthy conditions over a period of many years now. This is not a report intended to be destructive, but that this hotel needs to act immediately. That this isn’t allowed to be ignored anymore so everyone has a healthy stay they would want their own family member to have, is the only purpose of the dangerous conditions being told of: to protect the public and their families and stop the insincere price-gouging going on with the public in regards to this hotel. This hotel needs to pay attention and stop ignoring the fact that old reviews reveal what is being said here is accurate. When reviews are searched, a long way back bedbugs and filth are reported, & overpricing for those extremely shabby conditions are consistently mentioned. I think someone at this hotel wrongly banked high room prices on the fact

This is being posted for your safety, extreme health safety issues that exists at this hotel. The hotel management seems to have turnovers a lot but somewhere in there everyone involved that could make change, chose to ignore & subject the public to extremely dangerous unhealthy & filthy conditions. No one should take this personal, but act on the dangerous conditions immediately, & stop ignoring the fact that old reviews reveal what is being said here is accurate. When reviews are searched, a long way back bedbugs and filth are reported, & overpricing for extremely shabby conditions are consistently mentioned. I think this place banks on the fact the lobby is huge, kept up, but where they store the guests is in disrespectful infested unkempt filthy condition. The name historically was the Shee Atika, then Westmark; but for some reason turned to now be called 'Southeast Resort." A resort into a 'deception condition' resort. You don't escape the poor review history by a name-change but maintain an absolutely unacceptable condition for the public. There are things in these room that look like they belonged in the garbage 15 to 20 years ago. The infestation came to our home 2024 & 3 months later (2025) we are still fighting it. We are people who never 1 time ever experienced any pest infestation whatsoever on our skin or in our clothing. This infestation went into "everything," and it went into everything FAST. I didn't have any experience. I didn't know this was coming to our house and we weren't going be able to get rid of it. Since they are not changing it, it has been in aged reviews, everyone needs to turn it in to the health and safety departments that can do something about it so that everyone helps each other not in spirit, the unhealthy infestation and the unhealthy filth.

High School Basketball Travel We enjoyed our stay at the Westmark in Sitka! The hotel was comfortable with plenty of amenities. The location was great for accessing shopping and restaurants as well as sightseeing adventures. We ate in the restaurant also and really enjoyed the food. My partner and I had to work on this trip but found private office space to remotely attend a meeting. The staff was very helpful with all of our questions. One thing that was a bit too much for us was the use of strong-smelling cleaning supplies ... just a bit over the top. We would stay here again when we visit Sitka!
