Crown Resorts Club Marbella

The resort was very well maintained, units well sized, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Good location for short walk to restaurants, bars, and markets. Only complaint was there was no AC in the room and was not aware of that before booking. Would be fine if not in a heat wave like we were during our trip though.

A friend and I spent a week at a two bed apartment overlooking the pool, with an RCI exchange. The apartment itself had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The sofa and chairs would have benefited from an update, however the beds and mattresses seemed newer and were very comfortable. Also the bathrooms appeared to have been updated more recently. Lots of hot water and great water pressure in the shower As some others have commented, soundproofing to the next door apartment was poor (not great when you can hear your neighbour using the bathroom). The apartment was exceptionally clean, as was the whole resort. At 8am every morning, a cleaning team spotlessly cleaned the area around the pool and worked hard to keep it spotless. The staff in the restaurant and reception were friendly and helpful. There is a walk back up the hill to the resort, which would be a challenge for some but we are relatively fit and enjoyed it. The beach about 15 mins walk and there is a regular bus service. The bus service is good, very cheap but slow as they make so many stops. We visited Marbella and Mijas, which involved two buses and 1.5 hours to visit the village which is about 15 miles away! But it was beautiful and worth the journey - we weren’t in a rush. We didn’t hire a car and managed to go what we wanted and have a break too. All in all, it’s not glamorous or showy, but if you want a break in the sun at a clean resort, it’s a great choice.

Avoid this place unless you’re actively looking for a nightmare. The Marbella Crown Resort is stuck in a time warp — and not in a charming, vintage kind of way. The décor is painfully outdated, with furniture that looks like it was pulled from a garage sale in the 1980s. Everywhere you look, there are stains, cracks, or things falling apart. The smell of mould hits you the second you walk in. Damp, musty, and deeply unpleasant — it’s in the rooms, the hallways, even by the pool. The carpets are stained, walls are scuffed, and there’s a general sense of neglect throughout the property. It honestly felt unhealthy to stay there. The staff were unhelpful and disinterested, offering minimal support when we raised concerns. Based on previous reviews, it’s clear that management has a habit of denying issues rather than fixing them — and unfortunately, that seems to be their ongoing strategy. The surrounding area didn’t feel particularly safe either. Definitely not somewhere you’d want to walk alone after dark. If you’re looking for relaxation, comfort, or anything resembling quality — this is not the place. Spend your money elsewhere and save yourself the regret.
