wonderful location: a few steps from the center of Sirmione and other centers on Lake Garda. Overlooking the lake, wonderful relaxation lawn. friendly staff; very clean. Good mattress and pillows. structure to be renovated. we will happily return

We stayed at the Hotel Smeraldo at the end of June. I would like to underline the great availability shown to me by the staff, allowing me to leave my car in the car park even earlier than the check-in time and beyond the check-out time. We had dinner at the Il Canneto Restaurant (at the Hotel La Paul opposite and part of the same property) and were very satisfied. Surely the Smeraldo hotel will have to intervene to fix some "rejuvenation" details but all in all we cannot speak badly of this structure and the lake view room that we used, taking into account that the services of the Hotel La Paul can also be used. Breakfast with very little can make a leap in quality, currently we are at little more than a good breakfast at home with packaged and non-packaged products, cafeteria at the moment. Cleanliness in general satisfactory (and my wife certainly doesn't say anything about it), excellent courtesy set in the bathroom.

Let's start with the small room and we had asked for 2 cots but they divided the lower part of the beds, very small bathroom, in the booking confirmation it said large room with the possibility of a third bed. I don't know how they could. We had booked for full board: plentiful and good breakfast, lunch menu always the same for 7 days, if we hadn't reported the inconvenience to the reception we would have always eaten the same lunch and the dessert was not included in the full board, good dinner. Absurd. Let's talk about the air conditioner 3 times (maybe even more if we had always been in the room) an unpleasant smell like manure came out for about 15-20 minutes. We reported this to the management who replied that they would take care of it and do you know how? placing a deodorant at the top of the wardrobe.

We arrived at the hotel at 12 and upon arriving at our destination it was not possible to check in since the reception of the Smeraldo hotel is only open from 2 to 6 pm and the room was not ready as we were told by the Paul hotel that is located opposite and is owned by the same owner. Having already paid half the deposit when booking, the first thing they did, they wanted the balance immediately! Honestly, this has never happened to me! But let's get to the point: when we got to the room we already noticed that it was cold, upon mentioning it to the reception they told us that they would take care of the technician immediately. Which they promptly didn't resolve. Called back 4 times, they couldn't figure it out, we went to dinner and returned to the room at 10pm and it was freezing! I go down to the reception of the Paul hotel twice more and argue with the blonde girl as she tells me angrily that I have to stop going to her since the problem will be solved. I insist: but what should I do with a 5 year old child, do we sleep in the car with the heating on if you don't even deign to replace the room? To make a long story short, the handyman who works there arrived in the room at 11pm with an electric heater. The funny thing is, it didn't work! Poor thing, he felt uncomfortable, went to get his electric one and apologized in everything. Obviously I tried to turn it on and it consumed air, it's not like I'm risking my health for these crazy people! When we arrived in the morning I asked to see the manager and as the professional he should be he hid himself inventing absurd excuses, luckily we found an angel, Mrs Carla, who took the situation to heart and changed our room (according to of all was not available as it was the Easter period!). I neglected to mention that the bathroom has no heating and the breakfast room feels like being inside a freezer!! Terrible room conditions, €200 per night for a crappy room! Ah: thanks to Mrs. Carla we received €70 back for the inconvenience! Best wishes to those who go!
