A nice double room with a balcony overlooking one of the main streets. Beautiful roof terrace. Quite a lavish breakfast by beautiful courtyard. Staff kind and professional.

We only stayed at Hotel Palazzo Cavalieri on a whim after arriving in Ortigia a day ahead of schedule. We are so glad that we did. The hotel is wonderful. There’s no onsite parking so we dropped off our suitcases and parked in the nearby public carpark (100 yards away) then returned to check in. The receptionist was exceptional being polite and professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Our room was split-level with the bedroom downstairs and the newly-modelled bathroom up an internal flight of stairs. There was even a small spare bed on the bathroom landing. Despite being on a busy road the room was quiet and we got a great night’s sleep. The hotel is very close to the bridge to Ortigia (200 yards) and being outside the island offers very reasonable rates in comparison to hotels on the island.

A wonderful experience: the reception staff were incredibly kind, the room was small but nice, the breakfast was a joy, from sweet to savory (try the mini arancini), and then the courtesy of the breakfast lady who gave me precious information on the sites to visit. I will definitely return.

Lovely hotel just off the bridges of Ortigia. Very convenient both for walking into the historic center and for going to the Greek Theatre. Young and very friendly staff, comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast, an atmosphere slightly reminiscent of a Moroccan hotel. We will definitely be back.
