YWCA Fort Canning

Arriving in the early morning, I walked into the hotel lobby, expecting it to be simply dated. Only after reaching the elevator corridor did I realize I'd arrived at a guesthouse worse than one in mainland China. This wasn't my first time traveling to Singapore, and I was traveling with two children. This hotel felt like a scam. Aside from the 1.8-inch king-size bed and a smaller bed, which were as described, the air conditioning had no temperature control, the bathroom was old, the washbasin didn't drain, the countertop was dusty and dirty, there was no shower gel, and no hot water. Two children, a mother's nightmare began. I complained at 2 a.m., but no one answered the phone. I called back half an hour later and was told all my problems. The answer was: "There's nothing we can do. Our hot water isn't instant, it's bottled. If you don't conserve it, it'll run out quickly, and you'll have to wait over an hour for hot water." The air conditioning was unavailable. "We'll fix it tomorrow or move you to another room." We've already cleaned it, and if it doesn't work, we'll clean it again tomorrow. I was speechless. The next day, I complained directly to the lobby customer service manager, who was incredibly difficult. I requested a refund for the first night and the remaining four nights if I didn't stay. They told me it was a contract with a third-party agency, so no refunds were available. Fortunately, I knew about Singapore's hotel regulations, and after persistent negotiation, I was able to get a refund for the remaining fees. Absolutely don't stay here. It's too much trouble. It's exhausting. Even though I got my money back, I'm not happy at all.
