Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, Singapore

The absolute pinnacle of family-friendly hotels in Singapore—highly recommended! With its own private beach and a wide variety of poolside activities, you can have a wonderful vacation without even leaving the property. Breakfast was incredibly lavish, featuring an extensive spread of Western, Chinese, and Southeast Asian options; they even had six different kinds of milk to choose from. On arrival day: The resort is on Sentosa Island. You can go to the Sentosa ticketing counter on Level 3 of VivoCity, show your Shangri-La booking confirmation, and get a complimentary QR code to enter the island via the Sentosa Express monorail. Alternatively, you can catch the hotel's free shuttle bus outside the Yakiniku Like (Bari-Uma area) exit at VivoCity. The shuttle runs every 40 minutes, roughly from 8 AM to 8 PM. Both options are super convenient. The staff were truly exceptional and accommodated every request. Plus, many of them speak fluent Mandarin, making communication completely hassle-free. What I loved most about the room was its classic, timeless decor—not dated at all, but carrying the grand charm and character you’d expect from a heritage luxury brand. Housekeeping stocked plenty of bottled water for us daily, and there was also a water purifier in the room, so hydration was never an issue. A getaway to Sentosa is all about unwinding and having fun. Time flew by way too fast here; it felt like time was stolen because we simply couldn't get enough of it. We'll definitely be back!

To sum it up, I initially saw many negative reviews about the service and the hotel itself, and had some unpleasant communication experiences with Ctrip and the hotel before my stay, so I didn't have high hopes. However, aside from the insanely high summer premium, everything else was absolutely fantastic! 1️⃣ We arrived in Singapore in the early hours and got to the hotel around 8 AM. When the front desk learned I was traveling with my child for their birthday, they immediately checked us in and even upgraded us to a sea-view room – huge props to them! 2️⃣ Since I was traveling with three kids, I asked the hotel about an extra bed. The customer service department provided a free extra bed and even an infant cot, haha, though I'm not sure if it was mistakenly added to our room. The bedding was comfortable and the hygiene was excellent – thumbs up! 3️⃣ The recreational facilities were quite good, with ping-pong, billiards, and pool slides that the kids loved. They were so happy staying at the hotel they didn't even want to go out. 4️⃣ The breakfast wasn't very extensive, which could definitely be improved.

Such a beautiful hotel! It's a shame I didn't have time to use the pool. The service was excellent, and the shuttle booking for the Disney cruise was very convenient. I'll definitely stay here again next time, making sure to allocate more time to fully enjoy the hotel!

Let's start with the environment. While the room facilities aren't brand new, they are generally clean and spacious. The building itself is quite beautiful, with every balcony offering a view. The hotel's internal greenery is lovely, and besides the beach, there's a small lawn perfect for enjoying the sea view, and it's rarely crowded, making for great photos. However, the hotel service left a lot to be desired. Overall, the attitude was good, but the efficiency was incredibly, incredibly low. I queued for a very long time for check-in; it felt like each person took an average of 20 minutes to complete the process. It's already 2026, and for a brand-name hotel to have such low efficiency is truly shocking. To top it off, check-in and check-out were handled at the same counter. I waited for over 40 minutes, and when it was finally my turn, two people came up for check-out, and the front desk actually asked me to wait. What's more, the service desk wasn't even fully staffed; not all windows were open. This was a very, very poor experience, although there was a nice young man who helped with towels, drinks, and luggage storage. Speaking of service, I also have to mention that all the middle-aged female staff with Southeast Asian features were chatting and laughing with white guests, their eyes practically squinting with smiles, but they wouldn't even acknowledge or greet Chinese guests, acting as if they didn't see them. This wasn't just one staff member, either. This was a really unpleasant experience. Staff of other genders or regions didn't behave this way. The beach and sea view were decent, but honestly, there was nothing particularly special about it. In Sanya, you can find plenty of similar views, often closer and cheaper, with food more suited to Chinese palates. They claimed to have a private beach, but it's not entirely private. The entire island coastline, including seafood stalls, is accessible by foot, and people generally don't walk near the hotel's vicinity anyway, as there's not much else to do there. If you're traveling with children, the sofa can be converted into a small bed, providing a very spacious area. The kids had a great time playing in the water. As for the food, the variety was rich, but the taste was just so-so, nothing to write home about.

The pool activities were a blast, and the staff were incredibly energetic. The pool party and water polo games were super intense, with even elementary school-aged kids fiercely swimming and vying for the ball. However, the kids' club was a bit small, and the staff seemed somewhat reluctant to host. (Initially, they said if there were too many kids, they could only supervise for an hour, and then kept asking if we wanted to pick them up). Although the overall facilities are a bit dated, they felt very clean and hygienic. Also, a big shout-out for the unlimited bottled water – I'm still not quite comfortable with tap water.

The room was nice, though it was a shame the weather wasn't great during our stay. The hotel is by the sea with a lovely view, and the small seaside park is perfect for enjoying the scenery and taking a walk. The hotel's beach is also very suitable for children to play.

The pool was great and it's super close to the beach, so the kids had a blast. It's also really convenient to Universal Studios and the Aquarium. All the staff were incredibly nice, especially Andel, who interacted so well with the little ones, making them very happy!

Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa offers a very comfortable environment with beautiful sea views, perfect for a vacation. The hotel staff are warm and attentive, and the breakfast is extensive. The pool and beach are great for families with children. Although the rooms feel a bit dated, the overall experience is relaxing and enjoyable, making it ideal for a family getaway.

Excellent! The facilities are complete, and the staff's attitude is top-notch! The shuttle bus is convenient and quick! The kids had a fantastic time! We'll definitely choose this place again next time we visit!
