The main reason for staying at Capella is that it is pet-friendly. It is worth affirming that pet-friendly is indeed done very well. The overall hotel environment and privacy are very good, and it feels like a vacation.
But the shortcomings are also very obvious.
First of all, the facilities are old because of the long years. The sound insulation between the upper and lower floors is not good. One day at 10 o'clock in the morning, I heard the sound of dragging furniture upstairs for 10 minutes. The humidity is extremely high. I couldn't sleep on the first night and felt itchy. The next day, after asking the front desk, they put a very mini humidifier in my room. It can only pump 200 ml of water a night, and the humidifier shows that the room humidity is about 70%+. There are very few hotels that make me feel uncomfortable and unable to sleep...; If the pad at the head of the bed adjusts the air conditioner in the middle of the night, it will light up and there is no button to turn off the light.
Secondly, I didn't experience the service that Capella is famous for.
Although the staff are very friendly (except for a doorman at the door, he also helped us carry the luggage, only he was cold), and Amy, who is responsible for the night bed, has a very good attitude.
But there are many service deficiencies below:
1. It was my birthday on the day of check-in, but because I did not take the initiative to tell the hotel that I was celebrating my birthday, the hotel did not find out that it was my birthday even after taking my passport (I did not want birthday gifts and decorations, but I thought it was incredible that they could not do this even though they were famous for their service)
2. After checking in, I was concerned about the privacy of the room and asked to change to a room in another direction. While waiting for the room change, the night bed service came over. I said that we were about to change rooms and would go to the new room for service. In the end, there was no night bed service in the new room, and the welcome snacks prepared in the first room were not moved over
3. There was an empty slipper bag in the drawer of the second room I changed to. I don’t know if it was because the room was not fully prepared because they changed it for me temporarily, but it was very uncomfortable
4. When I contacted them through the online service channel, they did not confirm with me which guest I was staying in, but just called me my husband’s name. I don’t know what they were thinking
5. Because I have a bad cervical spine, Capella’s pillows are very unfriendly to the cervical spine. I did not see any pillow menu in the room. I couldn’t sleep on the first day, so I had to ask if there were other pillows on the second day. When I checked in, I asked if there were any other pillows. The butler didn't mention these during the tour.
In addition, the breakfast was not very delicious. It was quite exquisite in form, but the taste was really average, so I didn't eat it the next day; the room service tasted good; there was no razor in the supplies, the toothpaste was Colgate, and the comb was not as good as Yangzhou Guest House.
In general, if you are mainly looking for a vacation feeling and don't care about humidity, don't expect service or need to bring pets, you can stay here. I believe it is still the best hotel in Sentosa; but if not, the price range is very wide.
