Coliwoo Hotel Kampong Glam - CoLiving (Newly Opened)

I love this hotel! The room is even bigger than in the photos. Everything is clean, modern and curated to exactly what you needed for an ideal trip. The amenities including snacks, coffee machines, etc are on point and worth the rooms’ rates. The wall is thin, but overall its a great place to stay.

The hotel has some positives: it is newly renovated, very clean, and conveniently located close to Singapore’s city center and major attractions. Unfortunately, these aspects were overshadowed by several major issues during our stay. The room was far smaller than expected (certainly by European standards) and, crucially, had no window – something that was not mentioned on the hotel’s homepage when we booked. The lack of natural light made the space feel even more cramped and uncomfortable. Our room had water tubing directly behind the bed without any noticeable sound insulation. This meant that whenever other guests used their shower or toilet – often late at night – it was extremely loud. Even with earplugs, we could not sleep properly because of the constant noise. The only way to contact staff was via a WhatsApp AI chatbot, which was frustrating and unhelpful. Responses were redundant or vague, and policies seemed to change daily: at first, we were told a cancellation or room change was strictly impossible, yet the next day it suddenly would have been possible. A human staff member only approached us in person on our last day, which was far too late to resolve anything. Overall: While the hotel’s cleanliness, renovation, and location are commendable, the poor room conditions, severe noise issues, and lack of proper customer service made our stay very unpleasant. I would not recommend this hotel for travelers seeking comfort or restful nights.
