We had the most wonderful stay at Alte Kalköfen Lodge! From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel so welcome and really went above and beyond with their personal touch. The dinner was incredible—delicious and very generous, we couldn’t get enough! Breakfast was just as lovely, with plenty of tasty options to start the day. Die Alte Kalkofen Lodge kann man uneinig empfehlen. Die kleinen Häuschen sind sehr sauber und individuell liebevoll gestaltet. Man kann vor Ort Wildtiere beobachten. Es gab ein sehr leckeres Abendessen und auch das Frühstück war reichhaltig und schmackhaft angerichtet. Das gesamte Personal und das Lodge Besitzerehepaar waren hilfreich und freundlich.

There is nothing here not to like. The owner is very helpful. The rooms are delightful. The food is incredible. The staff makes you smile. The greenhouse will thrill anyone into plants. The animal viewing is fantastic. This is a place that makes your heart sing. There are some issues for someone with mobility issues but the staff helped override the issues. Can't wait to go back. Wish we had stayed here and drove to Fish River Canyon for a day trip. The accommodations there were marginal.

The whole experience was wonderful. We arrived late and the owners were already waiting for us and had prepared a delicious and very, very complete dinner. Salad, main course with meat, side dishes and mini quiches (very good), and even dessert. The food was homemade and I felt at home. The little house where we stayed was very charming, a mix of old and modern. The house was all painted white inside and had some very peculiar and unique details such as the sinks, the indoor shower. The beds were facing a window where there was an outdoor shower. And the best thing is early in the morning with daylight entering the house to see the animals so close by walking. I loved it and I recommend it!

Tolle Lodge in einsamer Gegend. Sehr individuell mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Sehr netter Gastgeber und sehr gute Küche. Es gibt ein gut besuchtes Wasserloch, was man von der Restaurantterrasse gut beobachten kann. Man kann eine Wanderung auf dem Farmgelände machen mit Tiersichtungen. Und es gibt eine große Sammlung lebendiger Steine ( Lithops). Wir haben ein kostenloses Upgrade bekommen auf ein ganzes Häuschen mit Küche und Livingroom. Danke!
