We have been staying at this hotel since it was new and we love the location…but it’s in need of a facelift and certainly needs new mattresses. Our night was rough and we woke up sore….however the breakfast was great and the staff is always friendly.

Good basic hotel- but it is old and not very updated. Didn’t hear the train go by at night- although it probably did. This is a lower cost option than Glenwood Springs or further into the mountains that is servicable- but nothing to write home about.

What can I say but Fabulous Fabulous Wonderful Amazing the views from this place are amazing. The Hotel sits out by itself and the views around it are amazing. The hotel was so nice I wish I could have stayed longer! The breakfast was the Best of any hotel breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and clean!

We stopped for the night while traveling to Bruce canyon Utah. We were pleased to see it was very nice and clean. The views of the river that runs behind it. The pool are was nice and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The next morning we had the complimentary breakfast and it was the best we ever had a hotel! Would definitely recommend for a nice place to stay for the night.

We stayed in a 2 queen room with a patio and were excited about the opportunity to sit on the patio and watch the River. On the surface the room looked nice but as we spent more time we noticed all the places the walls and furniture were banged up, peeling wall paper, and non-working electric outlets. It is probably time for an update. We did enjoy sitting on the patio watching the River. The breakfast was pretty bad, very strange egg concoction and it was cold and the famous HI Express cinnamon rolls were hard as concrete. The staff in the breakfast area was nice and when I noted the coffee had run out she put out a new urn immediately, I appreciate the responsiveness. This could be a great hotel it just needs a little work to get it back on track.

Nice and very clean hotel. Backed up to a river with a paved path around the property. Made it easy and convenient to walk the dog. Nice hot breakfast provided with many choices. Would stay here again.

I do know if this is how it is always but the hotel is recovering from a flood. I arrived there after a long flight and multiple hours of driving to find out that the hotel recently fluid and is barely functioning. Electricity was on and off. The hotel smelt bad. The 2nd floor was closed. The worst thing is that I had this hotel booked months before and IHG never informed me about this. Do not go to this hotel! or at least wait a considerable amount of time till it is fixed. I had to go to another hotel for sure after what I saw there!

We stayed here about 1-1/2 years ago and thought it was an above-average Holiday Inn Express, with a nice setting on the Colorado River. So we booked it again for one night during our drive to California. This time we were disappointed. Nothing terrible, but despite being diamond status with IHG, we were not given any sort of upgrade from a standard room, even though they were not full. We were given a room on the parking lot side on the first floor when my profile requests high floor. No welcome amenity offered or any other recognition of loyalty status. When I asked about the standard welcome points for diamond members when we checked out I was told it would be taken care of, that they had some new staff. Seems like a little more training would be helpful but that is the case most places these days. . . Breakfast was fine, standard for a HI Express but well supplied and the area was tidy. Our room was looking a bit worn (torn lampshades, etc.) but was comfortable. Overall, worth staying at if you can get a room on the river side with a balcony, otherwise nothing to distinguish it from other hotels in the area.

a HI express with a beautiful setting. Riverside with rooms overlooking the river. We also saw a spectacular sun set- thanks to the smoke. Highly recommend. The facility itself is new enough that not a lot of wear is showing up yet.
