The Hotel Chesa Pool is located in the beautiful car-free Fex Valley and can only be reached on foot, with our hotel shuttle or in a horse-drawn carriage.
It is the first vegetarian hotel in the Engadine. Our cuisine surprises and inspires - refined, creative and deeply rooted in the nature of the Fex Valley. With care and sensitivity, we compose vegetarian and vegan dishes that make the most of regional ingredients and play with subtle flavors.
For over four centuries, our little house has guarded the entrance to the Fex Valley - a witness to time.
The house was built in 1585 by the nobleman Baptista von Salis. At that time, the Engadin was still part of the Roman Empire. The hidden side valley in the Engadin retains its historical charm to this day.
Discover 21 rooms of a special kind - each with its own history. From traditional Engadine vaulted rooms to pinewood double rooms, every detail reflects the history of the hotel. Once built as a farm by the noble von Salis family, the hotel retains its historic charm and combines it with timeless comfort.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms are basic. The food is all vegetarian and was great. The location is great as a starting point for lots of beautiful hikes.

I came to the restaurant today around 3pm and it was about 1/3 full. I sat for half an hour roughly and got absolutely no service or attention from the man at the bar ( he had a pony tail). Two other tables came in around the same time as me and also had to wait a long time. I left after 30 mins and the table next to me acknowledged that they knew why I was leaving. Of the two other tables that came in, he seemed to favour the Italians who for no obvious reason got service (at their table) before the other table who had to walk up to the bar to order. My recommendation is do not leave customers waiting for longer than 10 mins, especially if the room is not busy and if you insist on relaxed service, at least serve tables in order of when they arrived and not at random. Moreover, if you have a preference for customers to order at the bar then make it apparent ( I don’t know if that is the case, but I still don’t really know why I was sat for so long when it wasn’t busy.

You can compare this place to a prison..not allowed any cars there( they do inform you about this after booking but usually is non refundable so nothing you can do) .their shuttle is at certain hours few times a day only with booking, and outside of these schedule they charge you ridiculous money for 5km and also very rude when you ask them.is like being on a prison. The rooms very outdated, and restaurant only vegetarian so basically if you are a meat eater you ll die starving here as you have no option to go out

Excellent vegetarian cuisine. Kind staff. Great location. Clean hotel and rooms. Even if Val Fex is forbidden to cars, the hotel offers a comfortable shuttle transfer from and to Sils im Engadin. Garden terrace.

Perfect stay, perfect food - like in a dream We came trailrun. Fex is car free but getting to the hotel is no problem. Extremely nice personal, very clean. The mixture of new and old in the rooms is fantastic. The view over the mountains also. Just loved it

We had with our friends such a great vegan and vegi lunch! We really appreciated the delicious dishes. The selected vegetables were really tasty and we really loved the composition of the tastes and the colours of the food.

The hotel stands in the middle of the walking valley, and on New Year's day there was no shuttle service. I could not walk 3 km in freezing temperatures and was forced to drive my car into the no access road. The manager the next day let me found a 100 Fr fine on my car. Never ever book this place. Pretty inconvenient and awful management.
