Calimera Side Resort

We came to this hotel middle of June. The hotel is very clean and tidy and the staff work really hard to keep it clean. Beth - the Jet 2 rep is very knowledgeable about the area and helped us out. She often walked round the pool and had a chat with guests. The bar staff work really hard and produce great cocktails. Our favourite barman was Suleyman, always had a smile! Ilya is a great addition to the team, we called him speedy, he works very hard and always ready for a laugh. Music around the pool - could be better! Often started off slow and when I asked if we could have something a bit more livelier was told they need to cater for every guest but I guess the ones sitting by the bar/games area were expecting something a bit more. The lifeguards are on hand and it was great to see them having fun with the kids and adults too. The entertainment staff are great but we did find the entertainment in the evening not so great - we had two families with 18, 2 x 16 yr, 14 and 7 year old and they got slightly bored in the evening (older children). Cleaners around the pool are friendly and do a fab job. The shop is good with all toiletries essential, and will blow up by your inflatables if they start to deflate. Guests - this is where our issue was! Far too many Russian and German (and all very rude). No please, thank you, will push in queues. Even saying hello to the cleaners in the morning you could tell were not used to be spoken to. I think they found it a welcoming change). Food - grill bit in evening is fab, different theme each night and none of us went hungry. We preferred the lunch at the slides for kids. The Italian restaurant had lovely food and was very good service too. All in all a brilliant holiday - just the evening entertainment and rude guests were a con for us.

Overall a good 4 star hotel We found the some nights the buffet was very busy dinners but staff work really hard to get you drinks and clear up. The daily evening bbq is amazing with different meats every night. We had to queue a lot for food and if they reorganised items then the queues would go down for example move the pasta station from the bbq area. Book the a la carte early so you get a visit we went the Italian and it will lovely. Bar staff around the pool are particularly friendly and deserve a special mention as they always polite and fast service. There is also a male staff member with a pony tail at the entertainment bar who is one of the nicest guys ever, always smiling and trying to make your holiday as best it can - well done all No issues with sun beds - if you go around the aqua pool you can still get them until 10am Slides are brilliant for the kids and open 10-12 and 2-5pm Drinks are available at 4 bars in the day and 3 in the evening. Efes beer and whiskey is bells the rest is local. Cocktails are nice and good choice - again bar staff are brilliant Rooms are lovely even if a little small - always very clean (we had land view but this is actually a view of the main pool with land to the front) WiFi is decent and we all had devices There is entertainment throughout the day and evening but the posters are not updated and sometimes I didn’t know what was on and where. You get Towels from the spa and they are only replaced if you pay Euro to have cleaned. Good location Great location with some brilliant shops on the island only a few minutes away. Side old town is 20 min walk through the old ruins which is amazing. If you want a meal out the restaurant next door called serandes is great value and good food. With a few tweaks and improvements I would have given this 5 star but regardless you won’t be disappointed and you will have an amazing holiday they are really minor points.

Recommend this hotel, different pool areas with good entertainment during the day and in the evening for all the family. Good food choices. Would return.

We have been staying here for the last nine days and leave tomorrow. In general we have had a fantastic time, the hotel and staff have been great. The food is lovely, the staff work extremely hard and create a lovely atmosphere. The hotel is very clean. The only issue we have had has been the poor organisation/advertising of the facilities and events. There have been a few times things have been advertised (water polo, karaoke, darts etc) that have been advertised at the wrong time or sometimes have not been on at all. This may seem pedantic but can be frustrating when you've planned your day around something. We were told we had to book the a la carte restaurant on the day we wanted to eat, but when we went it had been booked out for the rest of the week. The worst example was tonight when we went to pay for our late check out (that we booked last night) to be told that our room isn't available. We were offered another room but didn't see the point. So all in all, a fantastic time but someone needs to organise things a lot better.

We stayed here for 10 days as a family of 4. The resort is very well maintained, spotless clean and friendly staff. There is a fab choice of food and drinks served as part of the all inclusive deal. Plenty of entertainment throughout the day and night to keep the kids happy. We would definitely return!
