On our Epic Trans-Africa Overland we were heading from Luaska to Kazungula (Bots etc) and wanted to add a couple of Stops on the way - Lake Kariba & the Dam were boyhood dreams, so we took the diversion and included both. T2 is not for the feint-hearted due to the numbers and sizes of the Trucks and the road surface, not to mention the inclines & descents, but it was worth it. Oh and Keep an eye out for Speed Traps. The Camp has numerous Chalets & Bungalows, but we camped (or parked if you'd rather) on a promontory, under shade and with an ablution Block 30 yds away. Terrific views and with Lake Kariba being so huge, white horses on the waves and waves crashing against the rocky shore, it felt like to were at the Shore (sandy beach n' everything) on the Indian Ocean. "Beware Crocs & Hippos" signage, kind of gave the game away. Delightful cold beers and a burger & chips were consumed in rapid order watching the sun set and a boat arrive with a tidy number of people - 20 or so. They overnighted too, but in Chalets. Peaceful night's sleep, and off we sped again to the M.15, then T2, then T1 to Monze (objective The Moorings Camp), but decided that was to far from Kazungula (the Border Crossing), which we were advised to get to ASAP, in the morning so headed for Choma. In Summary - a pleasant, peaceful, safe, and quiet Overnight, off the beaten track - Thank you.
