WWaiEverything is just perfect , from the arrival welcome drinks and the staff are nice. The Onsen is also beautiful.
One thing is not good is the flashing on top of the ceiling is quite annoying for people who don’t like any light during sleep. If it can be improve, say can switch off during night time. Probably it’s a perfect hotel for family vacation!

GGuest UserThe best room throughout my trip in Kyushu. Size wise, you have plenty of space to flat open 28” luggage. Bed wise, nice firmness. Cleanliness wise, outstanding.
The room has functioning AC so you can always cater the temperature to your preference. They also prepare a pair of pajamas for you to use, so don’t worry about bringing too many clothes.
Breakfast is aplenty, with a lot of seafood & vegetarian options.
For Muslim travellers, halal restaurant is 1km away, and is accessible on foot, or Uber.
They have onsen, and coin operated laundry facility.
No complaint at all. Staff are so accommodating and attentive.

The ryokan is set in a beautiful, serene location, surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful retreat from daily life.
The room was spacious and tastefully decorated in traditional Japanese style, blending modern comforts with authentic charm. The private onsen attached to my room was a highlight, allowing me to unwind in soothing hot springs while taking in the picturesque views.
What truly sets Kannawaen apart is the attention to detail and personalized service. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly cared for throughout my stay.
If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway with impeccable service and a true Japanese experience, I highly recommend Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan. It’s a place we would love to visit again.

GGuest UserThe room is quite big, except that the pillow is a bit hard😂 It costs 1350 yen to take a taxi from Beppu. Someone will pick you up as soon as you get off the car. The staff is very enthusiastic. The hotel has a new building, Tsukijisang, and an old building, Qiujisang. The one I stayed in was the old building. When I went there, the staff carried my luggage up. When I checked out, the staff also carried the last staircase down. They were so polite that I felt embarrassed! Every dish for dinner will be introduced. The wagyu beef is very delicious, but the breakfast is not very appetizing😁! For soup, there are four private soups and two public baths, separated by men and women! If you don't want to live near the JR station, you can consider staying here!

Seaview is pretty far from hotel room... Thus nothing much to see anyway.
As the Onsen is actually a bathtub attached to the inroom shower, the sulphur smell is very strong alike rotten eggs.
Stayed for one night and is a good experience.

location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk. there is a 7-11 just around the corner
room: my room came without a bathroom but for the ladies are 3 cubicles shared among the 7 mix gendered guests on the floor. i did not have to wait in line at all. there was more than enough space in the room to open my suitcase wide and still feel comfortable. bed and pillow was a bit hard though, and you can hear anyone talking loudly downstairs outside the building as the room is on 2nd floor, tho that doesnt happen very often.
food: amazing balanced breakfast that changes everyday - really delicious!
onsen: the one on 2F was smaller than 1F, but very good and comfortable. clean too. you can book a private onsen room for 500yen (50mins)
staff: all of them were super friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. there are english-proficient staff available 24H as well :)

GGuest UserQuite a old hotel, reasonable price and environment, the breakfast here is quite nice, but the staffs in the reception counter cannot speak English and only give me some information catalogues in Korea.
The location is good and convenient to go to the Youme mall which is the best shopping centre there.

GGuest UserA more traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. The tatami was laid out by the staff. Yukatas were provided. The balcony of the sea view room had a beautiful view in the morning. We arrived late and made a private bath appointment the next morning. The front desk staff was very friendly and helped us make an appointment for Hulu Hot Spring at our request. Thank you very much

The bathroom also needs to be equipped with hot and cold water.
The size of the room is satisfactory.
It's very cold, but you can control the heater.
Although it is a weekend, the price is too expensive and you have to pay a 1000 yen hot spring tax even if you do not use the hot spring when you check out.
