Visited for a birthday meal on a Sunday evening. Friendly welcome and lovely setting. Many options for drinks and some lovely wines available. The food was really lovely, it’s hard to describe a really nice roast but these chefs know what they are doing. And the folks looking after us were just awesome, what a lovely attentive but chilled vibe! Not easily done. Would very much recommend.

Booked this hotel at the last minute due to a spontaneous visit to Shrewsbury. Lovely and clean with free parking. Very attentive staff. Great location, just a few minutes walk to most of the attractions and right by the river walk too. We enjoyed evening drinks in the bar and a delicious breakfast in the morning.

This hotel has a brilliant location and has private limited parking. The rooms are clean and have some of the old original features, like exposed beams. The room that we stayed in was a superior room (14) unfortunately the view in front of the window was of industrial extractor unit from the kitchen. The decor of the room was pure white walls with gray doors and skirting and a gray carpet. It's would of been a lot better with a touch of colour on some of the wall and some photos of bygone day's of Shrewsbury. And maybe some local textiles. The staff were attentive and friendly there is a very good management system in place, this shows on how smoothly it all runs. The food is of very good quality. The bar and restaurant was managed by Patrick, he is at the top of his game and is skilled in dealing with the guests. The person who greets you on arrival at reception was Fay, she is very good at her job.

With its exposed beams and spacious layout, the loft suite we stayed in for one night had a quirky charm and was attractively furnished. Our first impression was one of amazement. Unfortunately, the outside temperature was around 30°C, and the room lacked air conditioning. To make matters worse, the exhaust from the restaurant’s air conditioning unit was located right next to the room. It produced a noise comparable to an airplane taking off and woke us up at 7:00 a.m. The mattress was also too soft for our comfort. On a positive note, the service was prompt and friendly, the breakfast was tasty, and parking was free.

We booked this hotel on 20th June around 4 pm. We arrived late in Shrewsbury and decided to stay. The lady on reception was so helpful & friendly, a real credit to the hotel. The hotel & room were lovely. Breakfast was really good and the restaurant was beautiful. All of the staff were so friendly. Car parking is great for the middle of Shrewsbury. We were advised the best way to go in as it is a narrow entrance. We will be back great stay.

Lunch at the Lion & Pheasant whilst shopping in and exploring Shrewsbury was lovely. We had spotted this hotel and its good looking menu on a previous shopping trip so made a point of actually trying it, so glad we did. The starters were lovely and the main courses were very well cooked and presented, the mushroom linguine was especially nice, I had food envy! Great value too, set lunch for 2 at £20 each (£5 supp for the steak).

My Wife & I recently enjoyed a one night stay here @ The Lion & Pheasant Hotel. Pleasant Hotel Ideally situated centrally in the City. Small car park located at the rear. Rooms comfortable and tastefully decorated. Well equipped with TV, Kettle, Tea & Coffee, Iron, Ironing Board, Hair Dryer etc. Breakfast very good included Cereals, Fresh Fruit, Yoghurts, Croissants, Toast. Choice of Cooked Breakfasts ranging from traditional English through to Omelettes, Shakshuka etc.

The Lion and Pheasant was better than its photos led us to expect. Centrally placed, a few metres from the Severn riverside walks. There is a nice little bar (hidden away from the street) and upstairs breakfast room, both modern and inviting. White predominates but not quite as much as the photos suggest. We opted for a studio room adjacent to the hotel and it was well equipped, including a microwave. The only grouse in this room is the bed, with slats not a firm base. No knowledge of beds in the other rooms. Disappointing and hard to understand considering the quality of the place.
