Daughter & son in laws wedding 24/07/25 Emma & Paul made everything effortless for us. The evening before the wedding and on the day passed without a hitch. Cannot thank them enough. Accommodation was very comfortable. Food on 3 days was plentiful and delicious. The staff were all very courteous and friendly. The views and the gardens were stunning. The black swans were an added attraction. Nothing was too much trouble we had hairdressers and a make up lady join us to do 7 ladies hair and make up. Breakfast was between 9 & 10am but it was no problem breakfast orders were taken and delivered to the bridal suite. We received so many compliments on the day of what a great venue and everyone enjoyed the day. Thank you. Would highly recommend.

My partner & I stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful traditional hotel recently whilst performing at a local music festival and we thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a top quality, peaceful, comfortable, relaxing retreat. The hotel is set in a stunning historic building situated in the heart of the picturesque Shropshire countryside and the rooms are lovely, the restaurant superb and the terrace and gardens are stunning - complete with a stream and black swans! All the hotel staff are extremely warm, welcoming, helpful, friendly and highly professional and their devotion to duty and the guest’s hospitality is exceptional and we cannot thank them enough. A special mention must go to the manager Steve who went above and beyond to help us and also to Emma, Luke, Becky and Lucy and the chef for their hard work. The only thing that would improve this wonderful venue would be if the breakfast was served after 9.30 a.m. at weekends, but staff more than made up for that. We look forward to returning again next time we’re in the area!

Absolutely sensational weekend for a large family reunion. Emma, Paul, Steve and all the team were amazing, so accommodating to all of us and making it a wonderful weekend in a beautiful setting. Emma worked with me to design a full weekend with a bbq on the Friday night, a 3 course meal followed by karaoke on the Saturday and a carvery Sunday lunch before leaving. The food was so good and the best hotel event catering I’ve found. The grounds are beautiful, it’s very fog and child friendly and there’s an electric car charger. Just perfect. We hope to return next year and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it or use for other events myself in the future.

We would like to thank the Owner and all the Staff for making our stay something special. Upon our arrival and throughout our stay, we were treated with exemplary courtesy. Our Evening meal and Breakfast were exceptional. Accommodation gave us the peace that we were looking for, along with the delightful views over the fields of the Wrekin. We thoroughly recommend this Hotel in such beautiful surroundings. Thank you for your Hospitality, we will return. Peter & Marie.

Very disappointed, we thought we had booked rooms in a country manor to relax in Saturday 12th April. We were actually booked into ‘The Annexe’ which is very similar to a dated travel lodge. Walls are thin and single glazing which would have been fine if there had not been a function. I had no sleep all night as people gathered on the car park talking and laughing until 4 am. My friend had a room further up the corridor and had the same problem. We actually cancelled our Sunday plans for going to ironbridge and lunch as we were so tired we just wanted to get home. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE IF YOU ARE EXPECTING A RELAXING STAY.

Am now a regular here having first booked at short notice six months ago. Work brings me to the area most weeks and I have always been well looked after. The rooms are always spotless and comfortable. Without exception, the people who work here are all welcoming and super helpful. There's plenty of well lit parking and because the hotel is slightly out of town it's a peaceful location. The hotel's focus on events means that mid-week it can be quite quiet, which suits after long working days. If you're dining at the hotel they will send a menu and ask you to pre-select your main course. To be honest the first time I thought this was a bit odd: however they do this to make sure your selection is freshly cooked to order - all the preparation is done in-house with fresh ingredients and you can taste that. I now eat here in preference to heading to Shrewsbury or further afield for dinner.
