Travelodge Shrewsbury Battlefield

Awful nights sleep! People talking really loud outside reception early hours of the morning, weren’t told to be quiet at all by staff. Fire alarm went off firstly at 2:38am! No staff to be seen in evacuation point, other guests also wondering what’s going on. Fire door wedged open with fire extinguisher. Alarm went off for a second time; no reassurance from staff. Could smell paint fumes very strongly. Told this morning when complained to reception that the workers were decorating through the night and the fumes and dust set the alarms off.

Nice place and clean

At Battlefields there no restaurant but next door there pub called two Henry s, there good food available and it led at breakfast time by Dawn, she deserves a mention, also at the lodge the receptionist was excellent.

This hotel is really budget friendly. It might not be a luxury hotel but it is good enough for a weekend holiday. It is also really close to many tourist attractions and also has a supermarket within walking distance for an urgent necessity. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Superb stay, lovely hotel situated in a great location with several options for dining and a petrol station on the same site. Parking is free and there are tonnes of spaces. Extremely friendly welcome by the staff at reception and the manager Chris could not do enough to enhance our stay.

With little experience of staying in travelodges I was pleasantly surprised by the excellence of this one. The staff were outstanding. They were smiley, helpful and very personable. The beds were so comfortable. We had a number of rooms and we all commented on it at the end of our 2 night stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

Only stay here if you must, rooms were very expensive, old and dirty. Toilet seat were marked and dirty, bed sheets weren’t clean. Left sign on the door to change the towels but were not changed. The hall way and room smells really old and dirty but it’s ok just not desirable

Unfortunately can’t recommend my worst enemy to stay at this hotel. It has terrible service and are very inhumane. I accidentally booked it and contacted them right away after and they refused my refund. Stay away from this hotel. They have terrible service.

Room (29) was clean and modern but let down by the absence of a hair drier, bath mat and drinking glasses. Also you really need to bring opera glasses to see the tiny TV and the cracked wash basin was a bit disappointing. The view out of the window (first floor) was completely obscured by a bush.
