It's a drum and base club that goes on until at least 130am. The owner is combative and unpleasant. Avoid at all costs. Do not be fooled - this isn't a cute pub! We'd booked it for wedding accom and immediately regretted it.

This was a good stay as a stop off for me and my two boys. The accommodation is fairly basic but is well maintained and perfectly decent as a place to put your head down. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and even sent me my child’s toy which we had left behind. It’s not luxury but does the basics really well. Thankyou for our stay.

Cant fault the room , apart from, ww were on the front, windows are shocking cos we could hear everyone's conversations, meaning they could hear my grunting and thrusting and gfs screaming, and 8am sunday, man working next door with a hammer, surely that's against the law ??,

Nice comfortable good value hotel
Check in was 15:00. I arrived at 16:20 and the room was still not ready. I complained to the woman at the bar which serves as the reception, she apologised, asked me if I wanted a drink while I waited and then tried to charge me for it! Not a good start to my stay.
However, the room itself was lovely, clean, comfortable, modern and stylish. Extremely good value for the price and literally opposite the train station.
Entry to the hotel is via an app you have to download, but it worked well and saved carrying a key.
Overall, apart from the cleaner still being in my room when I arrived, I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to others.

Great location for The Buttermarket. But that’s where the positives end. Shower was barely warm. Lipstick stains on the very dated bedding. It is very noisy! Outside, right on a very busy road in the town centre with revellers walking past all night. Inside, they have live music (or and our case, Karaoke) and they have it on incredibly loud. They claim to have sound proof walls. But they did nothing! We gave up around midnight and left! Sent a detailed complaint to the owner and their reply was literally, “I am sorry”

This place saved my life! I arrived late one evening and the place that I had booked in Shrewsbury.. lets say I wasn't capable of finding. The hosts in the bar were soo friendly and accommodating making me - the lost traveller extremely comfortable. I read the reviews and would agree with some of the comments but personally, I found the place warm, comfortable, modern and amazingly useful for the town and especially the station. Thanks Guys, i'll be back!
