Myself and my husband stayed here for 1 night while we were passing through recently from Ireland. The hotel and the room was so elegantly decorated. It is an old building so slight quirks but did not taint the overall experience. The room was supplied with a Fan as the room was very warm. Every staff member we met was extremely friendly. We got in late at night and to our surprise there was 2 homemade cookies placed beside the tea/coffee section. What a personal touch (THEY WERE DELICIOUS)! The next morning we went down for what I could only describe as the tastiest breakfast of our trip. We will definitely be returning as this little gem of a hotel has to be listed as one of my favorite quaint hotels.

Shame because we have stayed here before. 1 is too generous. Do not stay here. Last time we were there there was a dreadful live band underneath our window. Impossible to sleep. Asked to be moved and were refused. Got an Uber back to London. Staff really rude and totally out of their depth. Very provincial... Sent a note the next day to suggest they refund the exhorbitant price paid for a very tired room. Never even received a reply. Avoid at all costs !!!!!!! Other places in Shipston so much better.

Popped in yesterday just before lunchtime for a drink and bite to eat! EMILY who was serving behind the bar and taking food orders was absolutely lovely, she gave a taster of the beer she thought would suit us (2 women) and she was spot on - she advised on menu options and very polite - lovely pub! Thank you 😋

Had a one night stay here in order to take part in the Cancer Research Big Hike. We booked two rooms with breakfast, but as the organisers of the hike brought the even forward by two hours, we were unable to attend breakfst, so the receptionist extremely kindly gave us a discount because of this. My room was clean and well-presented with a gloriously large bathroom and shower. My bed was like sleeping on a cloud, it was so soft. We didn't eat here, but the bar service and outside seating area (we were here during the heatwave) were lovely. They keep a good pint of Aspall cider, which went down far too quickly.

Very warm welcome, excellent room with massive shower and roll top bath. Lively evening atmosphere with friendly staff. Interesting menu, good wines and generous breakfast the next morning. Overall a memorable stay ,especially due to the staff.

Originally this would have been a review saying how nice the hotel was. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and an enjoyable dinner. Then came the breakfast disaster. Breakfast started badly when we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken. When it did arrive it was the most awful food ever served for a breakfast. For the Eggs Benedict, one egg was poached solid whilst the other egg was barely cooked. They were supposed to have smoked salmon on them but most of that was heaped on just one egg with just a sliver on the other. And then it was coated in stone cold Hollandaise sauce. Truly appalling. And the Full English was no better. The bacon was so overcooked it was like cardboard [cold cardboard at that] and the two fried eggs were so overdone that the yolks disappeared into a powder when cut. Nobody came to ask if we were enjoying our meal until we had virtually finished picking our way through the edible bits, by which time we just wanted out of the place. There was a welcome letter in our room from the manager giving us an email address to contact him on if you had a problem. We emailed him 3 days ago but have had zero response which really sums up this hotels customer attitude. There are several other hotels & restaurants in Shipston and I would recommend you look at those rather than be served rubbish like this.

The staff were very helpful and also we were offered a room upgrade. The breakfast was very imaginative.

The decoration of the building is really nice and pretty but then the wifi in this property is horrendous. For a business traveler like me, it took my 5 minutes just to send a email through so I will not be coming back if internet is essential for me in the trip.

Lovely accommodation/room. Majority of the staff were great. It was loud at night when people were eating and drinking outside in the pub garden. Overall it was a nice stay.
