CChentutu555⭐Geographical location: Yudanaka Hot Spring is relatively close to Jigokudani Monuen, a 20-minute walk from the station. It should be noted that you can pick up the station before 5 pm. We arrived at 5:30, but the boss said we could not pick up. Although the distance is not long, it still takes a while to walk on the mountain road. You can also take a bus, which runs every half an hour. ⭐Service: There are two shopkeepers serving you, and their attitude is very good. They will help you deliver your luggage to the coffee shop next to the station when you travel the next day. It should be noted that if you check in after 3 pm, you will not be able to make calls in the morning. I left something in the room. No one answered the phone after three calls. In the end, I had to go to the store to get it again. ⭐Facilities: The room layout is relatively simple and the facilities are relatively simple. To be honest, the heating is relatively small and it is a bit cold at night. There is no shower room and toilet, and the sink only has cold water. Shower rooms and hot springs need to be charged separately, 500 yen. Public toilets (all small Japanese-style hotels are like this) are very clean, because there are few rooms and few guests, and you have never touched anyone else in the toilet. Anyway, the price/performance ratio is pretty good. ⭐Meals: Our order included dinner and breakfast, but the portions were small and not enough to fill us up. When we got out of the station, we had to remember to buy some food from Lawson. There are no convenience stores in the hot spring street! Mineral water is not provided, and there is an additional charge of +100yen. ⭐Hot spring: You can soak in 9 soups on the street, but there is only one key, so you have to go there separately. The private soup shop in the store is in B1. It is relatively simple, has a lot of moisture, and is not very clean. It is recommended to go to the public soup house. Although the boss said that there is no place to take a bath in the public bath, so you can only buy a private bath + shower, which is a bit embarrassing.

GGuest UserThe room is super super super great! The food is very rich and delicious. The front desk staff was very friendly from the time we got to the shuttle bus. The owner of the hotel came to greet us at dinner time. She is a very elegant Japanese kimono lady. There is also a collection of precious kimonos in the store, which is worth seeing. The private bath can be booked. Although the area is not large, it is worth experiencing. After checking out the next day, there is a car that can take you to Yudanaka Station or Snow Monkey Park. If you go to the Snow Monkey Park, you will also be given a guide map to Yudanaka Station by bus. In short, it is a very good experience.

GGuest UserLocated just within 3min from Yudanaka station, Raki Onsenryokan is run by a Chinese family. As a quiet town on its own, no one was tending to the reception when I arrived, after ringing the bell, a lady came down to help with the check in - very straightforward. I believe the family stays in the same building as they said if we ever needed anything, we could just ring the bell at the reception. Obviously I had booked a room too big for a solo traveller as this was the only room left as ”non-smoking”. Toilet and sink are at two different parts of the room which was a little inconvenient. Ryokan offers free drive (15min) TO snow monkey park, but not return, so please cater at least 35min to walk from park exit to the bus stop. Ryokan also provided a hearty breakfast, overall for the price paid it was a decent stay!

Very Good
AAnonymous UserIt's a 10 mins walk uphill from train station so maybe better to try to contact them for a complimentary pick up. The place is super grand and 2 onsens. A Instagram worthy one that the males and females get to use it at different timings. The shower stuff in the onsen are mediocre though. No fancy facial stuff for women unlike some other onsens at this price range. We had breakfast and dinner for the 2 nights. And well worth it. But you have to follow a fixed timing and we felt a bit rushed but otherwise it was really great and service perfect. We had one the biggest rooms I believe Room 716. Had a sitting area and also a sleeping area. Easily fits 8 persons. We were only 2. In the day they kept the futons and brought it out at night. Towels changed every night. There is a van that goes straight to Mount Yokoteyama ski resort. The receptionist didn't seem to know about it but you could try to Google. It was a complimentary ride to and fro if you bought the lift tickets. Took only like 30 mins to get there. You can get rentals at hotels there.

GGuest UserWe came to Shiga Plateau for skiing, we have been to Yudanaka four times, and we have lived in 8 different homestays. Daimaru House is the best one: A The boss's English is good, there is no problem with communication (the boss is not good); B There is a bathroom in the room, which is very convenient (most of the bathrooms in the homestay are shared and inconvenient) C In the hot spring town, eating is very convenient; D Going out is the station, it is convenient to go skiing on the mountain; E Indoor and outdoor hot springs are large and powerful; F The boss is very nice and provides pick-up/send-off/go to snow monkey park service (this is very important in Tangtianzhong, some homestays do not provide it) In a word, come to Shiga Plateau skiing, choose Daimaru House is right!

HHenry 7hangOur family made a special trip from Tokyo to Nagano, and besides exploring the surrounding attractions, watching the snow monkeys soaking in the hot springs of Nozawa, and visiting the Togakushi Shrine, the highlight of this trip was staying at Issa no Komichi Biyu no Yado. Initially, we had modest expectations, thinking of it as just another experience. However, upon arriving in the snowy Yudanaka Shibu Onsen, we were immediately impressed by the warm and professional hospitality. From the thoughtful reception to the exquisite dinner and the unique public onsen, every aspect exceeded our expectations and left us pleasantly surprised. This wasn’t just a hotel stay—it was an unforgettable journey into the heart of Japanese onsen culture. If you’re planning a trip to Nagano, this is definitely a place worth visiting to experience the perfect blend of hot springs and nature!

YYvesPI only stayed one night in this beautiful ryokan and in Yamanouchi but I could easily have stayed longer, as there seems to have trekking opportunities in the area. The ryokan itself is great on all levels: clean, quiet at night and has an authentic feel. The staff is very helpful and speaks fluent English. When you arrive, it will provide you with traditional Japanese clothing in which you'll wander by the streets, go to restaurants and most importantly, explore the 9 public and free onsen in the village. I slept in a 3 bed dormitory and hadn't slept so well for several days. A free shuttle service will bring you to the next bus station (perhaps train station as well)

EElinaNikIt was brilliant! It is the same with pictures on this site. They gave me yukata and towel and changed it every day. I had a tea and enjoyed it on my balcony. I tried a futon at first time in my life. I had my own reserved table for breakfast. ❗❗❗The hotel has its own bus with driver, which took me to the Snow Monkey Park and to the station for free! Actually staff was so polite! It is seems like you are someone important. Actually the only one minus that you can't go to all 9 Shibu Onsen's baths, but just to 9th bath only. But the hotel has its own bath even open-air. It was really nice and comfortable accommodation.

RReginaWe initially couldn't secure rooms with en-suite bathrooms, but we were pleasantly surprised by how clean both the shared bathrooms and rooms were. The onsen was a delightful feature, offering both indoor and outdoor baths. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and responsive, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was excellent, and the location is very convenient—just a short walk to Nozawa Onsen town and close to the ski park. We had such a great time and will definitely be returning!
