Hotels near Tsunoshima Bridge, Shimonoseki

Unbeatable location with many rooms ( or all rooms) and public spaces facing Tsunoshima Bridge. Our room faced the ocean directly with no obstruction. The bath was also quite decent and the outdoor bath is next to the sea. You can enjoy the sound of the waves while bathing in the hot spa. It should be quite spectacular during sunset. The spa was probably renovated within the last 10 years as it was in good condition. The room , however, felt old and the corridor was damp. The carpet in the room felt damp and the room felt stuffy. The AC worked well and we turned it on high. Our triple room as spacious but I felt itchy the whole night while sleeping- although the sheets looked clean ( I slept on the added bed). The other two beds looked slumped in the middle. Bathroom also looked quite old( from the 70’s)? My room was at the far end wing and there were lots of stairs to walk up and down from the front desk which was on the third floor. The staff will help to bring the luggages to your room ( also at check out - just call). Hotel restaurant serves dinner buffet . If you are not interested, the hotel also has a list of restaurants nearby with 10-30 minutes drive. We drove out to have yakitori in a small down, which was very local, but with friendly owner, good food- and super cheap price ( each yakitori was about ¥120-150 yen. Breakfast buffet has both Japanese and western offers, taste was average. Overall service was very good.

It was a place where you could walk to Karato fish market, Kamon Wharf, Kameyama Hachimangu Shrine, Akama Jingu Shrine, and so on, and the location was quiet and easy to spend. There is no elevator, so carry back is hand-held. We recommend that you bring it without relying on hotel amenities. There are no cotton, cotton swabs, lotion emulsion cleansing, face wash, etc. It is good to contact the hotel in advance.

The staff was kind and comfortable! The toilet and bath were separated and the room was beautiful. It was like a room living alone. I didn't enjoy the scenery because it wasn't on the sea side, but the location is great because it is convenient to be close to the Karato market. I thought it would be helpful if there was makeup remover and lotion.

Although the design of the hotel is relatively simple and old, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is a bus nearby to go to Karato Market the next day👍🏻I appreciate the friendly attitude of the front counter staff, who also tried their best to communicate with us in English and a translator.
