This hotel was a pleasant surprise to our trip. Staffs are very polite and helpful despite having some communication difficulties. The food served at the restaurant was awesome.
Cleanliness of the hotel and room was top-notched, bedding sets were comfortable.
We truly enjoyed our stay there, thank you!

Very satisfied. Originally I just wanted to experience the steam train, but it turned out to be the most satisfactory hot spring hotel I stayed in during this trip. The location is a little off. Breakfast and dinner are both buffet and delicious. There are only two soups but they are very clean. There are free popsicles after soaking. The room is also quite big. The front desk is very nice. They try very hard to communicate in Chinese and give candy (gift).

I panicked when the journey was delayed at the last minute. Anyway, I barely remember how I got there. I rushed to catch the train to Kawane Onsen Hotel. I finally arrived while looking at the scenery. It was the best relaxing hotel. The food and drinks were also great. It was probably the last train. With a beer in hand through the glass, this place is really the best.

We stayed here with four people, including our daughters, a second-grader and a nursery school student. The exterior is old, but the interior is new. It is a small-scale hotel, but it is spacious and well-maintained, which is good for families. The meals are buffet-style, but the menu is luxurious, with plenty of local ingredients and dishes. I was surprised that Shizuoka beer and other drinks were all-you-can-drink. There is an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and although only the indoor bath is hot spring water, the spring quality is very good, and the popsicles and Yakult after the bath are very popular with children. Parents are also grateful that they can use the massage chairs for free. The welcome drink, Kawane tea, was sweet, and my children, who used to dislike green tea, suddenly started to like it. It was a great inn, and overall the satisfaction level was very high, considering the reasonable price. I would like to use it again if I am in the area.

I was accompanying my wife's friends on a trip as a driver, and since the hotel reservation was made just before the scheduled date, we were able to use the room by ourselves, which was a bit on the higher side for the price. However, even though it was a buffet style, the food was lavish, and drinks were included, so it was essentially an all-you-can-drink plan. I don't really like alcohol, but I've never experienced a buffet style like this before. The hotel used a lot of local ingredients, leaving me feeling full and satisfied, and the indoor bath was a natural spring, although the only disappointment was that the outdoor bath was carbonated, so it wasn't a hot spring. I would have been happy if the open-air bath had some natural spring water as well. I was very satisfied with the food at the hotel, both in the evening and in the morning.

Located on the bank of the Oi river, with onsen on-site. Dinner and breakfast food selection is pretty decent. Free parking lot. The hotel has western style rooms as well as Japanese. All Japanese rooms, have an onsen bath in each bathroom. 99.90 % of the guests stay there for the onsen. Nice view and relaxing atmosphere.

I think this is the easiest place to arrange in the Oi River basin. Next to the roadside station Kawane Onsen. 10 minutes walk from Kawane Onsen Sasamado Station. Accessible by car or train. The railway to Kawane Onsen Sasamado was restored on October 1st, but it was still closed at the time of our stay. It's more suitable for families. The roadside station next door is a day-trip hot spring, but it seems that it also has day-trippers. Sodium chloride spring. Free-flowing spring water. Dinner is buffet style. I don't plan on getting my money's worth because I won't be able to eat if I drink. But I made sure to be hungry. They have a full range of Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes. The sashimi is served as a self-serve seafood bowl without rice. You can eat a mountain of it if you want. What I like about it is the self-serve all-you-can-drink alcohol. So I stayed there, and I don't usually stay at hotels with a buffet dinner with two meals included. Breakfast is also buffet style. There isn't a lot of food, but it's definitely better quality than a business hotel buffet. We also had curry for breakfast, so we ate our fill.
