Oigawa Railway Kawane Onsen Hotel

We stayed here with four people, including our daughters, a second-grader and a nursery school student. The exterior is old, but the interior is new. It is a small-scale hotel, but it is spacious and well-maintained, which is good for families. The meals are buffet-style, but the menu is luxurious, with plenty of local ingredients and dishes. I was surprised that Shizuoka beer and other drinks were all-you-can-drink. There is an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and although only the indoor bath is hot spring water, the spring quality is very good, and the popsicles and Yakult after the bath are very popular with children. Parents are also grateful that they can use the massage chairs for free. The welcome drink, Kawane tea, was sweet, and my children, who used to dislike green tea, suddenly started to like it. It was a great inn, and overall the satisfaction level was very high, considering the reasonable price. I would like to use it again if I am in the area.

I think this is the easiest place to arrange in the Oi River basin. Next to the roadside station Kawane Onsen. 10 minutes walk from Kawane Onsen Sasamado Station. Accessible by car or train. The railway to Kawane Onsen Sasamado was restored on October 1st, but it was still closed at the time of our stay. It's more suitable for families. The roadside station next door is a day-trip hot spring, but it seems that it also has day-trippers. Sodium chloride spring. Free-flowing spring water. Dinner is buffet style. I don't plan on getting my money's worth because I won't be able to eat if I drink. But I made sure to be hungry. They have a full range of Japanese, Western and Chinese dishes. The sashimi is served as a self-serve seafood bowl without rice. You can eat a mountain of it if you want. What I like about it is the self-serve all-you-can-drink alcohol. So I stayed there, and I don't usually stay at hotels with a buffet dinner with two meals included. Breakfast is also buffet style. There isn't a lot of food, but it's definitely better quality than a business hotel buffet. We also had curry for breakfast, so we ate our fill.
