Woodland Hill Stay

This little gem is tucked away and a bit hard to find. It is in a nice and quiet location. The rooms are reasonably big, spacious and comfortable and have a nice view. The breakfast is nice and the staff Alan and Kerry are very receptive. The only issue if I was to nitpick is that the water capacity of the geyser is a little bit low for the cold winter nights - so keep the geyser on all the time. Also, conserve warm water as much as possible if you're on double occupancy.

Before one book this Hotel, pls make sure not to make any advance payment for the same. This hotel comes up with payment acknowledgement that cancelation Prior to 7 days full refund to be given but they don't follow that. I had booked for this Diwali but for medical emergency at home i was under compulsion to cancel it and that was done prior to 7 days but never got the refund. They initially took the plea that its upto their accountant whims to refund and now they stopped taking calls...so unscrupulous way to deal with guest. Therefore those who intend to book this hotel pay advance at ur own risk as we all run with risk of medical emergencies.

Nice stay option in good location. We wanted to avoid police bazar location. Hence stayed at woodland. Nice big clean room with garden n open air restaurant. Service staff is superb. Young boys n girls are managing the property. Really good experience although bit costly.

The hotel is in upper lachumiere in a pretty residential area away from all the din of Shillong. Service is nice and prompt and they clean the room pretty well. The property isn't large but it's neat and we'll decorated. Loved the front porch flowers and lace curtains in the room Food is great ...very light and tasty and they do cater to special requests. Special shout out to Kerim who made sure that we were well attended to at all times. Overall good experience!!!

Never book room in this hotel, too expensive as per the standard. No variety in breakfast, they even don't give curd with aalu pratha by saying they don't have it but if you order seperately they will provide it. Hotel staff will even ask you how many sandwich or roti you will have in breakfast. Rooms are cosy with crampy shower and toilet seat. No toiletry unless demand it. Incase you stay bit longer in room they will switch off electricity of your room and if you ask they will say power cut. Whereas in lobby etc room heater, computer etc is working fine. I ask about genrator they said they don't have it. Only good about hotel is the location; it's close to Police Bazar.
