Kanno Onsen

The food and accommodation are good, the rooms are neat and clean, and I'm basically satisfied. There are paid washing and drying facilities which are very practical. It's a pity that I came at the wrong time. The indoor hot spring facilities and washing area were damaged due to the loss of water over time, and there was no water. Only one pool is operating normally, but the other indoor pool is receiving water from a faucet, which means that the water in the pool is just ordinary pipe water. But there is a lot of scale, and it seems that no one has cleaned it for a long time. Maybe it is located in a remote place, or it is already heavily in debt and lacks funds for repairs. The water quality of the hot springs is very good and has not deteriorated. The employees have lost their vitality and have no prospects. They are just living one day at a time, which seems to reflect that this place is dying and barely surviving. It really makes people worry about their business conditions. From the details, it can be seen that the actual operators have tried their best to maintain it. The only way out is to wait for the hotel group to acquire it before it can continue to operate. Otherwise, this spring with excellent quality will return to nature. I hope to see them in operation next time I come.

I thought I had booked a one-night, two-board plan. However, when I looked at it, it seemed that I had chosen the plan without meals, and there was no place to eat in the vicinity of Kan no Anzen, so I managed to prepare both dinner and breakfast when I was in trouble. The venison beef stew and sashimi were also delicious　 As for the hot springs, there are 11 bathtubs, and the quality of the hot springs is good, and the free-flowing hot springs are really good. This is my second stay ^ ^

I returned after a year. The "Ikoro Bocca no Yu" in the accommodation building is a rare bathtub with hot water springing from beneath your feet, with bubbles rising from the rocks at the bottom. I understand the desire to admire the many bathtubs in the hot spring building, but my main reason for returning was to enjoy the hot water springing from beneath my feet to my heart's content. What bothered me on my return visit was that the temperature of the bathtubs had dropped overall. As it is run by a small staff, it also seems that cleaning, including the bathtubs, is not as thorough as it used to be. The bed in the room was comfortable, it was quiet, and I slept well. The food was, as always, just average.

Located in Daisetsuzan National Park in Shikaoi Town, this hot spring is a detached house surrounded by national forests. As the town name suggests, I encountered a total of five deer three times on the road to and from work. There must be quite a high density of deer. It consists of a hot spring building and an accommodation building (Komorebi-so). The accommodation building was a relatively new three-story building made of reinforced concrete, which was surprising. I was traveling alone, but I thought it was more comfortable than the average business hotel room with a single bed. There was a refrigerator and a relatively large screen TV, and the soundproofing was solid, so I had a comfortable stay. The food was not luxurious, but it was sufficient. The owner is from Taiki Town and runs three companies. The front desk of the accommodation building was a friendly foreigner of South Asian descent who spoke fluent Japanese. There are 13 hot springs and 11 baths here, and the spring quality is all sodium chloride bicarbonate hot springs with a pH of around 7, but the ingredients and temperatures are slightly different, so you can enjoy the different textures and smells. The hot springs are free-flowing, with the only bath being the "Ikoro Bocca no Yu" in the accommodation building, which is a rare bath that springs from beneath your feet. Day-trip bathing is alternated between men and women, so if you stay overnight you are guaranteed to be able to bathe. There are a number of outdoor hot springs around this hot spring, but it is said that there are only 20 to 30 hot springs in the whole country with a temperature suitable for bathing and geographical conditions that allow the construction of a bathhouse, and this is one of them.

After all, with 13 hot spring sources and 11 hot springs, each with a different ingredient analysis report, you won't be able to fully enjoy it in just one night, making it a wonderland for hot spring lovers. The last time I stayed was 30 years ago, so I was surprised to find that the bathtub and some parts of the bathroom had not changed much since then, even though the facilities have been updated to make it more comfortable. Also, as a campaign measure until March, the price of 8,000 yen for one night and two meals was a happy miscalculation for us ordinary people.
