A very good hotel. The owner is very kind and enthusiastic. He told us which attractions are worth visiting. The hotel is located in the center of the main island. The scenery is very beautiful. It is close to a supermarket and a gas station. There is also a small shop and a fish and chip shop. There is also a takeaway Chinese restaurant very close by, but the taste is an improved version from abroad, closer to the ********* one. However, I recommend the hotel’s lunch and dinner. You can tell the boss what you want to eat, and the boss will prepare it very carefully. , we didn’t know it at first. After communicating with the boss, the fish meal and chicken meal prepared by the boss were of course made according to our requirements. They were very delicious. Of course, the boss would not cook Chinese food, but the curry rice and other dishes prepared by the boss were very delicious. Tourists said it was delicious because we like to eat light food. The taste is similar to Michelin. The hotel bed is soft and comfortable. Among them, the facilities were negotiated with benefits. We went to see the Aurora. The boss also told us where is better to see it and which website to check for warnings. This hotel is warm and like home. I recommend everyone to book this hotel. However, in summer, you must book three months in advance, otherwise there will be no Location.

Great place in Shetland Our experience in Shetland was greatly enhanced by our hotel stay. The staff were very helpful. Particularly Scott and Curtis at breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The amenities were very good and useful. Even though it was a distance from Lerwick it was definitely the correct choice to stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of an organised tour. The room we were given was a disabled room (not necessary for us) and was less than inviting. The room was quite cold on arrival and took some time to warm up. The communal areas were nicely decorated although the bar area was a bit cramped when we all turned up for a pre-dinner drink. The bar had a limited range of beers - a local cask would make a big difference. Evening meals were tasty and varied and the hotel went out of their way to provide an addition vegetarian meal on one night when the choices didn’t suit. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay with great freshly cooked food to order and excellent service and attention from Scott and Curtis providing a bright, efficient and fun vibe (even the singing along to the music was good 😊).

This is lovely hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The cheery staff looks after everyone well. The beds were good, the pillows a bit stiff. The heat came on quickly when we came in cold from the rain. There's games and a snooker room. The bar opens about an hour before dinner-- There's quite a broad selection of libations. Breakfast is nice. The fellows who greeted us were cheery and helpful. The hit tea and coffee came out quickly and the cooked breakfast was made to order. Curtis was particularly cheery, funny and had good information about everything on the islands from what to see to what to wear given the weather. He treated us like welcome family. Stuart could be heard singing along with the music as he expertly cooked our eggs (perfect every day of our tour!). He has a great voice, and when he pitched in inside the dining room he made us feel as welcome as Curtis had done. Breakfast has lots of choice--all well made. Dinner was great--we especially liked the salmon, pork chop and beefsteak. Desserts were lovely. You can tell that the staff are happy--with our landlady cheerfully pitching in serving dinner when one of her staff was out. We were there on a Brightwater tour for Up Helly A, and their good spirits added to our own.

Stayed here for 3 nights during a trip to watch the Up Hell Aa festival. Hotel was welcoming and the staff were very friendly. Curtis and Scott were in charge for breakfast and they could not do enough for you. Their service and food were excellent. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would recommend and would be happy to stay here again.

During a recent stay at The Brae Hotel for a couple of weeks while working away, I found the hotel to be in a great location with comfortable rooms. However, due to the time of year and challenging weather conditions, there were staff and chef shortages, meaning evening meals were limited to a small bar menu. Despite this, breakfast was still served each morning, and I have to give a special mention to Curtis and Scott, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. They ensured we were well looked after, always providing a delicious serving of breakfast to start the day with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Understanding our situation with limited food options, they even took it upon themselves to bring us food in the evenings—a gesture that made a huge difference. With most places closed due to the weather and not much happening around the hotel, their kindness and hospitality truly stood out, making our stay far better than expected. A massive thank you to both of them for their outstanding service!

A nice hotel with very helpful staff. Some minor issues on our arrival which were sorted out immediately. The problem was with ******* booking, not the hotel. Absolutely perfect for our visit which was for a business trip. We will definitely go back next time we are in Shetland.
