I stayed at the most beautiful place yesterday — it truly exceeded my expectations. Although it’s in a slightly remote location, that actually added to the charm. The surroundings were stunning and peaceful, making it the perfect escape from the city. The service was absolutely five-star; everything was spotless and thoughtfully designed. Even the bathroom had massage features, which was such a luxurious touch. Every detail made me feel completely relaxed and taken care of. If you're looking for a hidden gem that offers both beauty and comfort, this place is 100% worth the visit.

We found The Crossways on the internet and booked for one night with our four legged friends. Frankly we both wished we had been able to stay longer. Our room was ground floor with outside access which was brilliant as our dogs would want out at irregular intervals! The Terraced area across from our room was wonderful and we drank and ate there with a view out to Glastonbury tor which on a warm summer’s evening was really special. Food and service was exemplary and the room was so well appointed that we didn’t want to leave. We got the impression that the hotel was the focus of many a local function and this gave it a family feel that will see us return. Thank you for a memorable stay.

I stayed at Crossways Hotel from 20th–22nd June 2025 and, unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had in some time. From the moment I arrived, the first impression was poor — staff were smoking directly outside the entrance, meaning guests had to walk through clouds of smoke to get in or out. Not exactly a welcoming atmosphere. The room itself had clearly not been cleaned properly — the floor was scattered with crisp debris, which gave the immediate impression of neglect. Breakfast was another low point. The quality of food was so poor on the second morning that I chose to skip it entirely for the rest of my stay, opting instead for Costa. The breakfast staff also seemed visibly unhappy to be there, which only added to the uncomfortable environment. After my stay, I raised these concerns via email and was met with a defensive response that implied the issues couldn’t be verified because I hadn’t reported them at the time. I was working long shifts at Glastonbury Festival and simply didn’t have the capacity to chase hotel management — but that shouldn’t make the feedback any less valid. The dismissive tone of the management’s reply only compounded my disappointment. Rather than showing empathy or offering a meaningful resolution, they chose to downplay my experience based on the lack of complaints from others. I chose this hotel over a larger chain in the hope of a more personal, quality experience — I regret that decision. Next time, I’ll be opting for the consistency and professionalism of a Premier Inn. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt it was important to share this experience. I would not recommend Crossways Hotel and will not be returning.

We had my 60th birthday at The Crossways. Robert the Events Manager was extremely helpful in helping us plan the day and evening in the months prior to my event. The day went extremely well and the hot and cold food buffet was excellent and all my 60 or so guests said how good it was, as well as the venue. We also stayed at the hotel and were very pleased with our room and its facilities. Strongly recommended as an events venue and a hotel. Well done and thank you to Robert and all the staff there!

The hotel is in a beautiful location, and the room was nicely decorated and clean. However, the bar area was uncomfortably cold, both in the evening and at breakfast time. If the heating had been turned up, we would have stayed longer. I would strongly recommend avoiding rooms 123 and 124. These rooms are directly opposite the beer garden, with windows at eye level with the seating area. Although the windows are tinted, it still felt uncomfortable, and we had to keep the curtains closed. When the sun shines, visibility into the room increases—not ideal for privacy. Additionally, the delivery area was right outside, making for an unwelcome early wake-up call. At 7 AM, a delivery driver struggled to reverse up the hilly drive, slamming every door on his van in the process—not exactly conducive to a relaxing lie-in. Given that the hotel was nearly empty, better room allocation should have been possible. Breakfast was average. The inclusion of spicy mushrooms in a traditional English breakfast was unexpected and not to our taste. The coffee machine also served lukewarm coffee, which was disappointing. Overall, while the hotel has potential, the lack of comfort, poor room placement, and underwhelming breakfast mean I wouldn’t stay here again.
