The Well Inn

Terrible stay. Didn't seem very lively upon entering, you could count the people in the bar/restaurant area on one hand, for a Friday night seemed strange and not convincing. The receptionist wasn't very accommodating at all and shooed us off to our room shortly after everything was all okay with check in. The room was small. The mattress was incredibly lumpy, you could really feel the springs digging in and it over hung the actual bed frame underneath which I've never ever come across. The bathroom was very poor, the fixtures were hanging off the walls, the workmanship in the bathroom and the shower was incredibly poor and it looked awful, this was a theme continuing into the bedroom itself making it not a nice place to be. I think maybe the cleaners need a bit more attention to detail as the room was filthy, everywhere you looked dust was gathering. On returning from dinner, as we felt if the food was as bad as the rooms we certainly wouldn't eat there and plus they don't do food past 8pm, we noticed what the receptionist failed to mention earlier was to enter our registration into the tablet for the parking. However very conveniently the hotel and bar area was all locked down and couldn't access the tablet, this was only just after 9pm and it says it is all locked and closed at 10pm. We have recently found out we have a parking charge, obviously, you cannot make it up. As you have guessed we certainly wont be staying again, I advise others to as well

Good Point: Bar tender was very friendly and helpful. Bad Points: Greeted by the news that there would be no food available for the weekend, there was no pre-warning of this. We booked this "Inn" as it was close to where we were working and meat we could relax at night. This is frankly not acceptable, not an "Inn" anymore if no food is available. The TV in my room was faulty and would not work at all on Saturday. Small amount of mould in the very weak-pressure shower. Bar closed very early at night so not even the opportunity for a nightcap. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

It was functional for what we needed. We were going to a wedding and had to check in earlier than their check in time which resulted in a £20 surcharge. Breakfast was pretty basic- tea/coffee/juice and toast. No hot alternative which was a shame.

We arrived to early to be checked in, so ordered drinks from the bar. The young lady behind the bar took our order, when we asked for ice for our drink, she said they don't have none. A man came out, my husband said that we are here for a stay, he waved keys in our face and walked away, saying he's off to check the rooms. When we eventually got to our room. Pillow case was dirty, toilet was p.. stained. The bathroom needs a massive redecorate. Plaster grit all over the bathroom floor. We had a double room in a great location, away from the busy road, which was very tiny, the bed was a very small bed.

Don't let the outside fool you. A modern bar and restaurant await you. The food was really tasty. The staff are really friendly and make you feel very welcome. The room was very spacious and modern. We look forward to staying again as it is so central to so many attractions.
