Southgate

This is definitely a budget hotel. No kitchenette, no wine glasses, no plates, no cutlery, sorry one lonely teaspoon. Noisy due to lack of sound insulation & location to fast food outlets. Ok for one night but not even any facilities to clean your coffee cup. A new motel but built to a budget

A very nice place to stay a night or stay for a while Good clean, spacious rooms Very nice, friendly and helpful reception staff Great pool Excellent BBQ area and seating area around pool Parking for each room at front door Comfy beds More than enough towels, soaps and whatever you need is supplied and more if required Just off the highway and just out of town Next door to foods, some shops and a nice massage joint

Went to Shepparton to visit my parents and due to large family numbers visiting, we opted to stay on a hotel close by (Southgate Hotel) There’s too much to list in detail, but here’s the greatest hits: - we were asked to bring $330 cash to cover the accomodation fee because the eftpos machine wasn’t working. - excessive mould on the bathroom roof - the beds are double beds, not queens as advertised. - the sheets are so hard n crunchy it was like sleeping in foil. - pillows are like wooden blocks - the local hoons run laps past the hotel till 4am in the morning, racing and doing burnouts. - we had upwards of 20 x teenage or early 20’s kids under no supervision running rampant till 1am the first night and 4am the second night. Which included loud music being played, excessive swearing, banging on walls, and numskullery in general. - my 2 young children slept about 8 hours across the 2 nights we stayed there, my wife and I were lucky to get 5 hours sleep for both nights. Could not have imagined experiencing such a horrible stay. Stay well and truly clear of this hotel, it’s atrocious!

Pleasant and efficient check in. Rooms are comfortable, spacious, modern and clean. Rooms do face outdoor common areas on one side and carpark on the other which can be noisy however due to the very cold weather on this stay it was quiet enough. Will be happy to return.

Stayed for two nights. Very surprised at the cleanliness of the motel. Garden and surrounds were beautiful. No litter or even a leaf to be found. Car parks very big too. Pool area clean and nice, although we never used it. Rooms clean , we had x2 double beds , so comfortable , pillows great too. Had 2 great sleeps. Motel was booked out all weekend due to a Country Music festival . Thought it would be noisy at night, but so impressed how quiet it was. Our room at back of motel, so no road noise whatsoever. (Room 19) large big screen tv on wall with great reception. Tea, coffee supplied. Free WiFi. Would highly recommend this motel if you want a good nights sleep and some peace and quiet. Maccas right next door also Subway very close by, walking distance to both. I must applaude the owners and also the hard working cleaners for keeping the rooms fresh and clean . Well done. 👏👏👏

Motel was good, very comfortable and would have slept well if not for room next door. If it wasn’t their loud tv, it was their talking didn’t stop until 3.30am. No consideration for other people! I think it might have been due to the construction/layout of premise. Rooms had a glass window wall facing out onto to a common area which included a pool/ bbq area, so sound from rooms traveled. But this constant noise was from their room. Rooms were very muggy so had to room the a/c all night Reception staff were very helpful on arrival and gave us suggestions on were to eat on a Sunday night Thanks

Had a lovely overnight stay here. Rooms are very clean, a good size and modern. Bed was very comfortable and high quality linen is used. Check in was easy and very pleasant with helpful staff. Pool looked nice although we didn’t use it. Plenty of options for eating out nearby.
