Hampton Inn & Suites Sharon

I am rating this hotel a 2 because of a horrible checkin experience (and more). This is the note I sent to the manager: “My husband and I arrived at your hotel to check in around 5:45 PM. There was no one at the desk, but there was a sign that said they were helping another guest and would be back momentarily. We waited for 5 minutes, 10 minutes…by this time there were three people waiting to check in. The sign had a suggestion to call 0 from the phone by the elevator for assistance. We tried…the phone rang at the desk and no one came to answer. I tried calling the number on your card. The phone rang at the desk…no one answered. By this time 15-20 minutes had passed. Finally the staff setting up for the evening reception went to try to find the reception clerk (I believe his name was Scott). She finally said she had located him and he would be coming. It was at least another 5 minutes before he showed up. There was no apology (that would have gone a long way). The explanation was he was in the restroom. Hmmm. Five minutes, maybe ten I could understand. This was closer to a half hour. We appreciate the evening reception person very much. We were very unhappy with the check in, no real explanation, absolutely no apology from Scott (?).” We did receive a reply back from Jennifer, the manager, with a sincere apology and a promise of extra points which we appreciate. Besides that experience, the furniture in the room is extremely worn, there was a rusted bar in the bathroom where towels hang, the shower was okay, the bed was comfortable. Two other coffee experiences (we love our coffee!), only one regular coffee in the room (4 decafs), at breakfast the regular coffee ran out (no big deal usually), but we checked for kitchen staff and couldn’t find anyone. Went to the front desk (they said they would check), went back to wait, a couple minutes later someone we didn’t realize was staff, and was chatting with guests, said “oh, do you need something?” and got the fresh pot. If we hadn’t had the other experience, no big deal, but we had kind of lost patience by then.

Enjoyed the stay. Everything was good. I was able to get the room for free by using my Hilton Honors points, so that made the stay nicer. The breakfast was ok, nothing great. Only other complaint, the fire pit area was kind of messy and unkept, staff needs to pay some attention to it.

This Hampton Inn is for worthy of a repeat stay! From the cleanliness of the room to the well kept grounds and friendly staff all added to our pleasant stay! Sara in the breakfast area keeps the breakfast foods well stocked, tables clean and gives you a friendly "good morning" The next time we travel to PA to visit family, we will be staying at this Hampton Inn again.

The staff is the friendliest people I have ever met and because I have been up here for a month and a have almost, they are like family the rooms are clean. If I had only one complaint it would be they need to have a little more variety for breakfast, like waffles and cheese sauce for the scramble eggs.

Getting there: Easy with a GPS, otherwise watch the signage carefully. Check-in: Very fast and pleasant. Desk staff very personable, welcoming, and helpful. Very well stocked snack pantry :) Room: The king room was very nice. Roomy, very clean. Excellent mattress, we had the best night's sleep of our trip. Bathroom: Very clean. I think our towels were new. Fully stocked with shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast: Neat, orderly, clean. We each found plenty to eat. As noted by other reviewers, the property is not new, but we found it to be in fine condition and would stay here again.

Clean, fresh, super friendly, beginning to end & inquiries answered with pride. Breakfast was good very attentive staff. Rooms clean (one of the best parts) coffee & water & snacks out most of day/night. Refrigerator & freezer working nicely w/Coffee in room also. Great place will definitely stay each travel out to destination!

This property is perched on a hillside, away from the road and thus offers quiet surroundings and nice views. The room was clean and the furnishings were in good shape. Everywhere I looked, I saw staff people working- cleaning floors, hauling trash away, stocking the buffet and working the reception desk. Everyone seemed to take pride in the business and in their jobs. There was a wedding party there during my stay and I was afraid of noise along with drunken and disorderly behavior. Everything was well managed by staff and I had a quiet stay. I would stay here again.

The service was the best we've experienced at a Hampton Inn. They had a "guest reception" the evening we arrived, and served complimentary beer, wine, and finger food. A couple of cold Yuengling after 10 hours on the road hit the spot! And the ladies working that evening were friendly and helpful. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Our only complaint was the breakfast was average at best, and they had no juice offerings at all.

Moldy smell, old worn carpet, worn furniture. So relieved we only needed one night. Old air conditioning unit that ran all night. I read the owners are heirs to the local Buhl family that provides an excellent park. So spend some money on your hotel. The service staff was very good. But room quality overshadowed the entire experience.
