I've stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years as I've travelled from Wisconsin to Tennessee. It's a good stopping point for me, southbound...but its reliability is a lot of what keeps me returning. The hotel is fairly close to the Interstate but I could not hear the road noise. There is a hamburger joint nearby and a few other food options. The room was clean and the evening and morning front desk and dining area staff were very friendly. The parking lot is well lit and the area seems very secure. I'd recommend the property and I will be back on another trip next year.

We called our reservation for two connecting rooms the first week of September and was told they were available so I paid for rooms. At 3pm Holiday Inn Express & Suites Shelbyville check in middle of October I was told the rooms were not available that they were rented out. The staff didn’t care that we needed these rooms. I would not recommend this motel due to bad management.

I stayed at this hotel on my way to a band camp in Tennessee. It was a pleasant stay with everything the way I have come to expect in an IHG hotel: front desk staff was friendly; lobby and room were clean; breakfast was very good.. This hotel is close to the Interstate yet quiet inside. While there aren't any restaurants within walking distance there seems to be a trolley that comes around that will take you to a couple local attractions. I'll be doing the same trip again next year and am certain I'll stay at this hotel again.

I hate giving this rating but if deserved then it has to be done. First a plus the bed was extremely comfortable and check in staff good. Now for the rest, peek whole was stuffed with tissue, bathroom floor had dirt on it, tv did not work until morning when it went through some update, very large tanker (with flammable sign) parked right underneath my window. That gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Didn't stay for breakfast as they didn't start until 630 am. I don't think I will give this one another shot.

Checked in on Friday at 3 pm. Told pool was closed and no idea if or when the state inspectors would come. Realized within 30 minutes that we had no hot water. Went down to front desk and was told it was because there were a lot of guests taking showers. Had to take a cold shower before heading out. Returned later that evening to see a sign on front door of hotel saying hot water pump wasn’t working and waiting for a plumber. By next morning and 3 pm when we left for a wedding, still no hot water. Front desk said we can request a discount on our rate and it would be passed onto manager. When we returned after 11 pm, it was fixed. Checking out on Sunday the front desk said we would receive a call or email by Monday about their discount offer. It is now Tuesday night and haven’t heard a word. We are Ihg platinum members. And we will never stay at this hotel again.

Woke up the next morning with one eye swelled shut. When we checked out, I asked if they allowed pets, and they indicated they do but throughly clean. After using the luggage cart, I could see my issue was coming from the luggage cart that was covered in white hair. If you are allergic to cats or dogs, this is not the place for you.

I travel for work frequently and stay in IHG hotels all the time. This seemed as my usual Holiday Inn Express. Staff are friendly, room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. But I was surprised that in my 5 day/4 night stay, my room was never cleaned. I stopped by the front desk and asked for extra towels and to have trash cans emptied. I received the additional towels, but no emptying of the trash can. No mention of issues with staffing for housekeeping. If there is, let your guests know in advance.

We had a great night’s sleep at this location! The staff that greeted us was very friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable! My only issue would be having breakfast available at 6:00 am during the week. There were several guests up hoping to grab a bite before heading out. Even if it’s just coffee and cold items, anything!
