We have just started dining at the T&C this past year and have had very memorable dinners. The main dining room features tables with fresh flowers on white tablecloths and many tables along the picture windows have wonderful views over the golf course of the surrounding mountains. The menu is extensive and the choices we've made have been delicious. However, the wonderful experiences we've had came to a roaring end recently. Our past dinners had been on weeknights which were quiet and which we thoroughly enjoyed with the company of others as well as by ourselves. The last visit (with friends who had never been before) was quite the opposite. We chose the T&C thinking that it would be a nice, elegant, reunion when, being a weekend evening with an event being held adjacent to the main dining room, what resulted was quite a difference from what we expected. We were seated a couple of tables from the walled partition of the event and with the non-stop, pounding, loud music, we had to practically shout our orders to the waiter and our conversations were limited because of the level of decibels emanating from the next room. We had our dinners which our guests appeared to enjoy (unfortunately, the scallops with breadcrumb topping was disappointing by the lack of size and quantity of the scallops along with the gritty texture of the crumb topping). What should have been a comfortable dining experience, turned out not to be. The one highlight of the evening was the fantastic service of our server, Nathaniel, who was very attentive and understanding of our disappointing dilemma. I would recommend contacting the T&C in advance to make sure no events are scheduled to impede your dining experience.

We have stayed here at least five times, and have never been disappointed. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and very capable. Dining room serves excellent meals, and wait staff is completely professional.

Unique building and floorplan. Nice amenities and wonderful staff, but room had a funky scent, i believe someone smoked in it before us.

The first thing I noticed upon entering our room was how low the ceiling was! I have never seen anything like it! If you are above average height I don't see you can comfortably move around. And forget it if you're claustrophobic. It reminded me of being put into the machine for an MRI! The bathroom ceiling was so low when I closed shower curtain it hit the light fixture in the ceiling! Being in there made me feel like a giant at 5'7"! The bathroom sink even seemed lower than normal. The walls are not well insulated & we could hear the people above walking around. The floor in our room didn't feel too stable & was uneven. The TV was also small. The whole room felt like being in an outdated doll house! If the rest of the rooms are similar I wouldn't recommend but strangely, I haven't seen another review that mentions the low ceilings. Is this the only room like that? It should have a chart at the entrance like they have to measure kids for rides at amusement parks but instead of saying must be this tall to ride says, "Must be this short to comfortably enjoy room!"

We’ve been coming back here on and off for the last 47 years. The Town and Country has a good location, updated decent rooms with comfortable beds, and an excellent restaurant. You can’t go wrong with the dining options. The exercise room is well appointed and the indoor pool is fine. Our main disappointment is with the quality of sleep you get. The walls are not soundproof, you hear every conversation in the hall and every time a door closes all night long. But the worst thing is that the last few times we have stayed in the early fall, we’ve been in the back of the 2 story annex and apparently this is the evening-long domain of drunken, swearing ATVers and truckers. Nothing but F-bombs and boisterous loudmouths till after 11 pm. The management should do something to ensure the ability of the guests to get a little peace. When 3:40 am rolled around this morning and I heard the drunken fool in the hallway having trouble finding his room with his friend I knew it was just another night of no sleep.
