I had a wonderful stay at Banana House. The rooms are sprawling and airy with beautiful views. The staff were attentive and helpful and the garden was absolutely beautiful. Its a lovely location once you get your bearings and there are wonderful places to shop and eat close by.

Non male ma neppure super, può essere una base in periodi molto affollati, ma altrimenti forse è preferibile una Villa con colazione compresa oppure una location fronte mare. Colazione mediocre, in verità il primo giorno ho chiesto un cappuccino ed è stato il peggiore di tutta la mia vita, il caffè invece buono. Piscina molto piccola e non molto limpida, però personale molto gentile e arredamento con colori ben armoniosi.

We so enjoyed our stay at Banana House! Location is perfect in Shela, very central. We had the Swahili breakfast each morning on the terrace, then explored, and came back for lunch poolside to relax in the heat of the day. The service is impeccable. The only reason for the 4 and not 5-star review is the heat at night combined with mosquitos which somehow enter the net. Two fans in the room couldn't quite cool me down. I'd highly recommend this property, regardless!

This place is a gem. I loved its green-commuity-oriented concept. The location is perfect. My son and I enjoyed the food and the pool. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. My only recommendation to the owners would be to think about climate friendly ACs. Though they had a fan in our room, the heat at night was a bit too much. I didn’t have time to try the yoga lessons and that could be the perfect excuse to go back!

I loved my stay here! Such a calm oasis after the hustle and bustle of Lamu. The salt water pool is a welcome relief from the heat, the beach is only 3 minutes away, the staff are brilliant, the food amazing (gorgeous salads and fruits). You can choose where to have your meal, in the garden, by the pool , on a balcony...And the communaI Swahili dinner in the garden was a real highlight and a good way to meet others if you are solo. I will definitely be back.

The house is beautiful and has a lovely vibe to it. There is a personal touch to the way it has been decorated. The breakfast was lovely. The yoga session was the highlight as our trainer, Joy, was incredible. The staff were excellent. They were friendly and catered to all our needs. The idea of the honest bar/fridge was refreshing and unique. Our room's fan stopped working in the middle of the night and it was very noisy in the morning as we felt like we were in the middle of the house and it didn't feel very private. The shower pressure was very weak on the second day we were there. The bedding and towels and kikoys were lovely.

We just popped in for breakfast as we are staying somewhere else. It was delicious. Wonderful fruit, coffee, omelette, pancakes, homemade delicious bread and mango jam, homemade yogurt. Everything super fresh and homemade with healthy ingredients. And wonderful Daniel served us. Thank you!

Fantastic hotel in a fabulous place. Sue, Anna & I spent 5 nights here. Rooms were great, hospitality was even better. Food was delicious. Yoga & massage were first class Sue & I stayed in Room 9. Oliver was our expert host. Great guy. Well done, Jamil & entire team
