Waridi House Lamu

What a beautiful house with its lovely shady garden!! So spacious, each room has its own huge terrace and lovely big bathroom. The whole house is decorated Swahili style, in a simple yet extremely tasteful way. Staff are helpful and very friendly, The cook, George is fantastic: we so enjoyed his tasty Swahili dishes with lobsters, fish, prawns and lots of delicious vegetables that we found the food better than most restaurants in Shela, Manda or Lamu! Crispus is very helpful and able to organise any outing or excursion you want, or else book restaurants for you. The house is located a short walk from Peponi's, through a maze of typical and locally inhabited backstreets where you come across many donkeys roaming freely. Beautiful, breathtaking Shela Beach is a short walk away, across the dunes. We had a hard time coming back down to earth when we got back after our lovely stay!!
