Horror de hotel. Habitación sucia. Cama imposible para descansar. Ruidos por todas partes del aire acondicionado y de la nevera. Al final... de un pasillo y tras sortear un par de puertas, nos golpea un calor imposible de aguantar. Es la bienvenida a la habitación del terror. La moqueta parece moverse de la fauna que habrá en su interior. La tv del siglo pasado no funciona a través del mando, casi mejor, porque al encenderla manualmente hace daño a los ojos la pésima imágen. El baño limpio, pero de cuartel años 50. La piscina, mejor dejarlo ahí. Lo bueno?, el entorno, que no cobran el parking y que tras dos noches inimaginables para un relax de vacaciones, nos vamos. Resumiendo, no entres, sigue de largo...

J’ai aimé cet hôtel avec une belle grande chambre propre et bien situé. Par contre, je déplore qu’il accepte les chiens. Un client avec deux chiens à laisse très longue qui vient vers moi, dans le corridor, je lui dit que j’ai très peur des chiens et il ne veut pas les tasser un peu. Dans la belle cour en arrière de l’hôtel, un client fait courir son chien sans laisse. Au restaurant Pacini de l’hôtel, un chien se promène sans maître et vient à côté de notre table. Dans les chambres, les chiens grimpent sur les lits et peuvent faire pipi. C’est dommage car le personnel est très dévoué et gentil.

I was on a business trip for the week and did not have any housekeeping service during my stay. The renovated room is minimalist at best; nothing to hang wardrobe since there are no closets in the room; the bed is uncomfortable – you can feel the metal frame through the thin mattress; one very uncomfortable chair at the work-table, no sofa or recliner in the room. The walls are very thin; you can hear conversations through the door simply by walking in the hallway or through the walls from the neighbour's room. The echo in the room when you have conversations can be concerning, especially if you want privacy. The checkout staff is extremely rude; without going into the details of our discussion, all I have to say at this point is that I will not be returning to their hotel.

The Shawinigan Cité de l'énergie is a nice place to visit. Unfortunately, there is a lack of decent hotels in. Shawinigan! Apart form the old and in need of renovation Comfort Inn, there is little to no option! The Hôtel Énergie is a bit better than the Comfort Inn, the rooms are more modern, bit the bathroom is ridiculously small, no soap dispenser, only a tiny bar (unlike most hotels in Europe)!, and the pillows are hard, like the Comfort Inn, the old AC is noisy. The swimming pool is tiny and just Ok. The attached restaurant, Pacini, is decent food but expensive, but there are many restaurants and bars within a walking distance. To sum it up, like Trois-Rivières (bigger city 30mns away), Shawinigan is in great need of newer and more affordable hotels. Because of the weekend, I paid $276 for a night at Comfort Inn with breakfast and $212 for Hôtel Énergie with no breakfast included. For less than that price you can be in a much nicer Hyatt Place in places like Moncton with good breakfast with turkey sausages option, plenty of food and a nicer pool etc....

This is an older somewhat tired hotel on the river front. There is a nice pool and join and gym. We had the three bed family suite which was large and bright. There is plenty of parking. There is an onsite restaurant but we didn’t eat there. There was no morning coffee service if you’re an early riser.

Nous avons déjà dormi dans une des suites et c'était très bien. Nous avions apprécié l'hôtel et le personnel. Cette fois nous avions choisi une chambre simple et c'était vraiment médiocre. La salle de bain est désuète, la toilette a bouché, le plancher semblait encore sale. Il y avait des marques un peu partout sur les murs (patch de plâtre, peinture écaillée...) le lit était peu confortable et il manquait de couvertures.
